Showing a little trust

I know you all know me from the Jail Server and you guys know how I run as a warden.

Well, these past few moons I have seen a little breakdown of order in the jail servers and some of it is credited to some new people who never had any experience with jail servers or just plain idiots who just want to cause a little chaos.

But we can't exactly ignore some of the "e"'s who also are part of the problem. Now, its not the freekilling that is bothering me but the lack of trust in the "eG" and "eGO"'s that bothers me.

I have heard quite a few complaints about how the admins are useless or don't understand what's going on or suck at being admin. Its true that some of this comes from non-eGO members but a good handful does come from members.

I just want you all to know that when I hear people break down their trust in the admins and complaining about their own leadership, it really irk's me. I joined eGO because of the neat organization and the rules that all members follow. But if people can't even show a little trust towards the admins then I feel that maybe eGO is not made up by "mature gamers" as our tagline says.

I know that most of you guys got honestly freekilled and have a strict liberal sense of justice but please just give a little trust in your Admins. Think about how much crap they have to deal with. They got promoted to "eG" and "eGO" for a reason. That reason is because they know the game back and front and know what's going on. Admin powers don't instantly kick in like magic either. And they might not notice some things or know the situation that your in. All you have to do is just say it once and your done. Don't spam the text box or your mic's. Just let the admin know and he/she will take care of it. Just because you don't get an instant reply doesn't mean the admins didn't notice.

Just show a little trust and give a little less complaining.

I agree with a lot of the stuff you are saying here GreenTea.

For example I get really annoyed when clan members complain about the admining in all chat because pubs who come on think that the admins don't do good jobs and let people break rules which isn't true and is totally unfair on the admins who put in a lot of effort to try and make sure everyone has a good time.

I also realise that it can be frustrating when you get freekilled for example and nothing gets done about it. I am not perfect and have been known to complain about freekilling but i try to remember to only mention it admin chat once and not in all chat. And NEVER do i complain about the jobs an admin does in game.

An interesting thing i saw a few weeks ago was when i was at a friends house (who is an admin). I saw just how hard it is to try and be a good admin and how much people expect you to do, case in point people spamming freekill and others saying it wasn't a freekill and expecting you to do something about it despite you not being vaguely near the situation so cannot make a fair decision in favour of one party or the other. Hence why i try my best to help admins, e.g. pointing out inappropriate sprays and also my best not to make their job harder.

However on a reverse point some admins, names which shall not be mentioned here, do seem to be unfair in their judgement and will sometimes not try to admin at all leaving e's to try their best to enforce. Occasionally the admin may abuse their power and threaten other players with a kick or a ban where one is simply not called for or when no rulebreaking has taken place.

BUT, my point is that 99% of admin are hardworking, dedicated and above all nice people so i agree with GreenTea in that you should trust their judgements, perhaps make their lives a bit easier and if mistakes are made, don't cause a scene: just move on from it and have fun!

People always spamming the admin caht with freekilling and then disrespect us because we don't handle it?
We do the best we can we don't see every little thing
Also in jail there will always be freekilling you will never eliminate it the only thing you can do is cut down on it the best you can.
Some people act like being an admin is easy and anyone can do it
That's not true at all.
It takes responsibility.
I've heard from a lot of people in this clan that some do not deserve admin. That's not true either.
Leadership picks them to become admins for a reason and understands what the person is capable of.
I Don't mean to sound like i'm complaining or anything or angry at anyone i just think some of you need to realize stuff does go unseen and sometimes you get freekilled. Please in the future do not blame it on the admins for not handling it becuase again sometimes we don't catch everything

i completely agree with you. The new ppl need to read the rules of the jail server and should follow the code. If not , they shouldnt be playing on the server because they wouldnt make it as fun as it should be. We need to enforce the rules on jail more from now on.

Look, let me break it down, if we kicked everyone who was suspected of freekilling the server would be empty. When you get killed, and you think it was wrongful, please do not spam:

FREEKILLER OMG OMG OMG KICK KICK PERMA BAN!!!!!

When it turns out you were killed becuase you broke a rule. It is harder than you think, everytime we get a suspected freekiller we don't ignore you we watch and observe to see any further freekill/freedamage.

No one is perfect, and we try out best to admin, but when there are 40 people and only 5 or 6 admins it can be hard to catch everyone AND play at the same time.

The Jail server has a few bug where free-killers get away from time ot time but does not mean that the free-killer get away. Most likely they will do it again and that will result in punishment. Admins can see everything that the players can see. When a lot of player start spamming in chat FREE KILLER admins see that and we get to work on it. Admins in the Jail server aren't always looking for free-killers and rule breakers. We are playing to have fun and when we need to in-force the rules, we do.

IN saying that admins don't see everything. We cant see every little thing in the game. But we can see when there is a problem in the servers and we take care of it as fast and quietly as we can.

I'd love it if people actually said, in ADMIN CHAT, that they got freekilled in a respectful manner. Most people say in all chat that they got freekilled. I just ignore it and tell them, "If you get freekilled, talk to the admins by typing U@ Message."

If they say in admin chat, "Existence just freekilled me because I was throwing out a gun", I'd just send them a quick psay saying we'd watch them.

Remember: Admin chat is easier for the admins to read, less spammy for everyone in the server, and will generally take care of your problem much quicker.
