A riddle

Note if you are the kinda person that obsesses about a puzzle stop reading now.

My physics teacher gave us the riddle he made up so far no one has been able to get it.

It is "what is a duck, yet a vest has no sleaves"


Lets see if we can figure this one out.

Ohh btw if any one here nows a good amount about the thoery of special relitivty and would be willing to answer some questions pm me.

but about the theory of relativity, just keep in mind the speed of light is not a constant. and there is lots of info and confirming experiments regarding this. the speed of light has been even halted, and sped up multiple times etc etc blah blah

Is it supposed to be a meta joke/riddle? See if it's something like "one of it's legs is both the same" or something about dual singulars like that. Since vests have no sleeves that's part of the trick to the riddle.

Sounds like your teacher is a quack. That type of vest is also something Rednecks (sometimes called Quackers) might put on.

That's right. The "constant" light speed of 186,000 miles/sec is really the speed of light in a vacuum and without gravitational interference. Look at something on the bottom of a pond, about a foot down, and you'll notice it isn't really where it appears to be from the surface. Light bends in water because it slows down in water. And somehow I think I borked that pond example.
