I tried to install a splash screen, read all kinds of instructions on how to, but it does not change. I even reinstalled and it still does not change. Anyone have a solution?

Will it ban me for hacks if i unpack the gfscape file for DOD and change the menus screen and then repack it and replace?

Never mind. I found the solution myself. I should get the tech help achievement for this.
Stupid DOD people, there are two files background01 and background01_widescreen. Since i run it at 16x10 then i needed to rename the menu background background01_widescreen, whereas everyone was using background01. No love for the widescreen people.
To learn this i had to extract a 1.3 GB gfscape file and open about every config file. Much hate for Steam now.

I did not know. Sad thing is that i could not find the information anywhere that you need to append the background01 file with a _widescreen extension if you run a widescreen aspect ratio. You would think you want to tell the world, as a lot of people use widescreen.

I ask because I have one too and I want to see if yours is better
I will be setting up a shop in the Art section soon and post them. If you know how to make them perhaps we can collaborate on it and slip the requests.
