i don't think it's his GPU overheating, else it wouldn't have stopped just by reloading CSS, i think it's more of a rendering issue, with a missing texture and/or colour.. Does this only happen in CSS? if yes, i'd reinstall/repair CSS, if not, delete your GPU's drivers and install the newest ones. My money's on the second option, more likely is a corrupt file in your GPU drivers!
