I have a Core 2 Duo E6860 3.0 and i have an old P6N Diamond motherboard from MSI. Just looking at the motherboards i'm not sure what to do. What would be the recommendations for SLI motherboards still using DDR2 Memory. Just thinking I should get a new motherboard probably pretty soon mine is hitting 2 years but still works well. Any ideas and/or suggestions! Thanks eGO's!

The EVGA/XFX 780i reference boards are good. Mine has been totally trouble free even with all of the pci-e slots populated.

what is your price range? do you plan on overclocking? if so, how much?

what company do you prefer?
foxconn
evga
asus
msi
gigabit
intel

and what is your current configuration minus your motherboard?

This is the basic but I might be able to spend 200 - 400 on a mobo and maybe go to DDR3 if it's any good these days?

No company I like over others. I just like to see alot of reviews saying they love it typically. Newegg has so many and I've been out of touch with hardware for a while!

When it only says Cross Fire Ready does it leave out SLI for nvidia or they just didn't put it in the description?

It's a Crossfire only board. X48/X38 is Crossfire only.

I'd recommend the 780i or 750i (if you're not going to overclock). They're nice (for Nvidia anyway) boards.

I looked at all the Newegg reviews and they all seem to having something wrong lol. I don't see a solid board with really good reviews for the 750 or 780's but then again mobo's are hit or miss depending on your stuff. Going to make it hard to decide!
