Hello everyone. I just found a new game called EVE Online. I was looking for people to play with inside the =(eGO)= community. If there is anyone out there that plays send me a Steam Invite,

Lil'Pizza Boy

Please let me know, Thanks

maybe
wats the whole plot of the game
is it like cs or like a starcraft game
more specifically how do u play it

never played it myself, as i have sworn off all MMORPGs. but i know alot of people here play it. Next time, before posting, give the search feature a try

its very likely someone has posted about eve online before, and thus you will get to find those people already interested in it, and talking about it

This game is about spaceships basicly... you pay money for ingame stuff and then some dude can come and destroy it and then you have to spend some more money again as i can recall it :S

Wow, I though EVE was much more popular than this, like WOW kind of levels of popularity.
I got the 21 day trial about a year back, my first impressions of it were good, going around space with a custom built spaceship. It took about 1 day before I realised that I wasn't enjoying the game in any way, it was just a chore (go do objective "#", you need to buy "#"), so I gave up on it. Although...most MMOs are a bit of a chore really, it's all about levels and currency, plus you have to pay. It's like paying for a second job.

I played a 14 day trial, loved it, got a 21 day buddy invite, loved it, bought it for 3 months, didnt play it after the first 4 days

They aren't a chore to me, I've played most popular MMO's starting with Ultima Online..

If its not your type of game, it's not your type of game... We pay to play on eGO servers becuase it costs to run them

You pay to play on WOW servers, because it costs to run them..

Can we steer this thread off the course of bashing mmo's if possible ?

BTW.. Eve online looks fun, and i heard you can leave your ship now and stuff, but i already play WoW.. And i like to focus my self on one MMO at a time.

I've heard great things, and i know they have a great team behind it.... try it out !

I'm not deliberately trying to bash mmo's, I used to be heavily addicted to WoW, a friend an I even had a server running at one point, but I kinda gave up when I realised that mmo's have no actual end point. At least with FPS you are aiming towards an actual goal.

The main point i'm getting at is that mmo's are great if you have fun, with mates, online. It stops being great when the actual process of levelling and gaining items, money, whatever, becomes a chore, not a passtime. Like it does with EVE, in my opinion.

Ok, i'm done, feel free to beat me around the head with a chair :chair:
