It's not really Japanese hot sauce, just because it's a completely different type of burning sensation. It's not very bad in your mouth, but when you take a breath and it gets in your nose, it feels like a nail has gone through your nasal cavity.

And if it makes it any easier Wasabi = Horseradish sauce.
