Strategy game help

Im looking for a new strategy game. Ive been playing Rise of Nations for the longest time and I wanna try a new one. I want another one similar to RoN where you have to build your cities, armies, etc. Any Ideas?

Have you tried the Age of Empires series? I always get addicted to them for a while, then go off them...then get addicted again. Command and Conquer is another old classic, bringing out new titles all the time. I never really got into C&C, but I know quite a few people who are heavily into it.

I would agree with the Age of Empires recommendation, but Age of Empire III specifically. Honestly Rise of Nations is such a complete package I'm not sure there's another one that you'll like after that.

You might like something from the Total War series, which mixes turn-based strategy and real time battles.

Those are my best recommendations that I can give to you...and believe me when I say I know RTS's!

Yeah, the closest thing I can think of to the RoN series is Age of Empire.

Other great series are C&C as mentioned above and CoH (Company of Heroes). Though these two have nothing to do with building a city. Its mostly base building.

The Civilization series and the Total War Series are also worth looking at.
