well i kinda wanted to get into wow but i looked at the costs and i finally got over the monthly costs, but the costs of the cd's too... is there anyone i can get games for free and just pay for account? Has anyone quit wow and would like to gimme their cd's/ account?, or can it not work like that :\ all i wana do is just get away with just paying monthly, not buying the games then paying monthly :\

2 things on that. One, if you buy someone's account and start playing their lvl 80 character, you will have no idea what you are doing/how to play/where to go. Plus, half the fun is achieving the highest level with great gear! Number 2, just purchase it off the website, i think it's only 20 bucks; haven't checked in a while. Plus, when you buy it they give you a free month anywho!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that WOW is a life sucking, black-hole-vortex of death and will destroy your very existence. Not only that, it will doom your soul to eternal torment in the fiery chasm of hell, where you will be forced to listen to a scratchy record of GardenGrove singing Yoko-ohno at a karaoke bar.

P.S. If your going to play with a friend, its defiantly worth it to sign up for the Recruit-a-friend. You level 3x as fast, the friends gets free time, which he can refund you in cash to pay for the game itself. Plus, you don't have to buy the expansions all at once. I think you can probably play for several months on just the original 9.99 wow.

I would like to note, that though you do pay for the CD's, each CD comes with a free month, so if you play your cards right, you can get them as you need them (the original free month will all but cover the whole game) and if you get the refer a friend, then you get an additional 2 weeks or so... then wehn you start getting close to 58 (or if you want to play a Blood elf or Draeni (sp?)) then you can get the first expansion which should be dropping in price... as you get closer to 68, then get the third, that way you aren't fronting all the money, and you have time to let the prices drop a bit and take full advantage of the free months...

That being said, Harry is right, you pretty much sell your soul to do anything decent in the game (raiding, arenas, or high end PVP)... I sold my account last April, and I was a part of a top tier raiding guild, so I do speak from experience... if you want to start playing, make peace with rarely seeing daylight again.

Lol.
HeavenKiller is right about the whole selling your soul thing.
Im currently playing as we speak.
Im in Ulduar, the new raid, and its very hard.
The game is very addictive, And you wont see Natural Light much :P (I Do though however)

stick to the topic people, its about the buying the game, not about how addictive wow is, im sure there is a topic about the evils of wow already, i should know, i played it :p

I think it's 15-20$ per month, which is 180-240 per year. Nice money waste, Huh?! lol jk dude.

I got banned for using an exploit and getting like 6 000 000 000g :) I was banned within 5 minutes of buying up everything in the auction house :)

If I had an account to give u I would... but my was banend and I sold my other one.

I play WoW and have incredible gear, get to raid every now and then, and still maintain a social life and go fishing all the time lol. WoW is a great social game, with fun challenges and, if the right people are present, a fantastic time. I can def relate to it being a timesink though. If you let it, WoW can rule your life. You will plan your life around raiding, around events in the game (you could even do so in this community haha). All things in moderation.

And a protest to the price of the game per month. $15 a month. I hear alot of people complain about paying to play. How much is a movie ticket these days? A cheap theatre around here (aside from Cinemark™ Dollar Theaters) at night sells ticks for $10.25, and matinee showings are $7 mid-day. I love movies, but now that the internet is easy, I download them and play WoW with that money. You could also skip eating CRAP fast food a few times and use that $$. I mean, if you are an american, you eat out as much as you possibly can, and ingest things you don't even know you are taking into your body by eating common fastfood. So in essence, giving up that fast food and playing WoW is GOOD FOR YOU. haahahahhaa

Oh yeah - I am Farinoth on the US Server Gorefiend =D Enhance Shaman since the beginning.

If you want to buy the games (CDs and keys, you only really need keys however) then PM me. I'll sell WoW+BC+WOTLK keys for 40$ total..about half the cost of buying them at the store.
