i cant figure out wat it is and i cant figure out what to do my pc keeps just shutting down so i have it narrowed down to about 3 things: ram, hard drive, or power supply my problem is the same my pc just keeps shutting down right when i am in the middle of a game. i was just playing the game and then about an hour of playing the game my pc just shuts down randomly

Aye, these two have the same thoughts as I do: Heat issue. Though to be sure you'll need to post your specs, like they said lol. Love beating a dead horse 
Be sure to post your power supply, it very well could be that you aren't pushing enough power. Though it's more likely to be heat. Try downloading SpeedFan in the meantime and list your temps here with it. It's been a while, but if I remember right.. on some computers one of the SpeedFan temps reports an insane number, don't worry too much because it's just means that your MB doesn't have the right sensor on it so SpeedFan throws up a crazy number. That's what it did to me, lol.

Have you run any hardware tests on it yet?
There are various test on the ultimate boot cd I would try.

First thing I would do is test the memory using the above CD. Let it run for at least 12 hours when it tests.
Next i would reseat everything on the motherboard: The CPU (apply new thermal grease http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835887010), Vid Card, Memory and any other add in cards.
If none of that works then let us know.
One question though: are all the fans working properly? Do you have room to add another fan?

Most of the time when a PSU goes bad it won't turn on.
I had the same problem with my computer it only happend on COD4 when i would play for a hour or more my computer would randomly shut down thought it was my old 600 watt PSU not pumping enough juice, nope it turned out to be my GFX card overheating, never does it with any game except that, got a PCI slot cooler to help. Bought a 750watt PSU with a 60AMPx2 12v rail....still did it after that so then i looked at the GPU yep, 123F idle, 130F full load....Shut down temp was 130F so the second it hit 130F it shut down the computer, i'd look at the GFX card temps first.
what i thought is a bit more complex, so bear with me=p Rhino told me his GPU and mobo temps were fine, so that's out of the question.. What i thought is that whereas his PSU is pumping enough juice to keep everything going at first, due to some malfunction internally, it's overheating, and that causes its resistance to go up, effectively dissipating more power, and thus not getting enough juice to the GPU and RAM chipsets, but enough for the CPU, which is what is causing the game to crash, but not the PC to shut down.. If that's totally wrong, sorry, just my 2 cents ;p
But since you're covered by warranty Rhino, just tell them to send you a new PSU, and if that doesn't fix it, we can take a look at everything else! at the utmost need, we just take you out, and as Stalin said "Death solves all problems, no man (rhino in this case ;p), no problem!":lol: nah jst j/king dude, hope it gets fixed!!

This is either a heat issue or a bios setting, or both. Make sure you are not breaking any temperature safe fails. Also, if the computer runs low on power, you continuous power supplied is different than your peak power so 750 watt power might be only peak power, when things get hot resistance increases and things change a little. Find out how much RMS power or continuous power you actually have. For newer systems that should be above 400 watts at least.

this is a heat issue for sure. I would see what all is running shortly before the shutdowns. You might have a trojan or virus of some kind heating up your GPU. So i would see what all is running when you computer really starts to heat. Also would suggest running a virus scanner and defrag. you could have a Fan that might just be going bad. I would check those as well. A good dusting fixes alot of over heating issues i have found.
