I have had a "fight" with my friends about which of the Matt Groening's shows is the best. Simpsons or Futurama. So. Help me solve this problem of ours and vote for your favorite.

I would of said the Simpsons but in recent years they have gone completely down hill.
Furturama, while canceled had a great few years were every episode was top quality.

This is not April Fools day or Opposite day...
Simspons is the BEST original cartoon comedy on TV. They actually have intelligent jokes and references that go beyond surface value. They don't just say "ITS PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!" over and over again for laughs, they actually make jokes.

The Simpsons has really gone down hill over the years and shows no sign of that trend reversing. The first six seasons or so were really damn good, but...yeah
Futurama on the other hand remained near top from up until it got canceled and still did well in the DVD movies that were released.
Futurama is a better show...for the record I'm so damn tired of Family Guy

the simpsons is the orriginal, and will always hold a special place in my heart.
but of these two nothing has made me laugh out loud and have to pause the tv to catch a breath quite like Futurama.
And yes i love family guy and american dad too. but futurama was way more original, and all of its laughs were thought out jokes, or puns*, unlike (as blackhawksniper said) family guy. Don't get me wrong, i love family guy. and have seen every simspson's episode up until the last 2 years, own every futurama episode, own all the original family guy episodes, and seen all the new ones, and seen all the american dad episodes. so its not like i am talking out of biases

Futurama is better! I got all the straight to movie dvds 
(The newest one is coming on comedy central soon i think) But the Simpsons is awesome too...Sooo Matt Groening = win

I think i've laughed once or twice while watching Futurama, the jokes are supposed to be funny but have been used so many times before. The Simpsons on the other hand, the first seasons were great, but the newer ones? Downhill. I might laugh once every episode. Before they get to the actual plot in the episodes, they have to show off something random the first 15 minutes.
