New CPU advice!!

I'm in need of a new CPU
Has to be dual core of at least 2.8GHz
Anything below is under par with todays PC requirements for gaming.
It has to be socket775 and an Intel model
Any one have an decent ideas?
I don't think intel do Triple cores unlike AMD D:

buy the nicest core 2 duo or core 2 quad you can afford. can't really go wrong.

I'd also go with the Q6600, great processor for over clocking.

An E8400 is best for any gamer vs the Q6600. The Q6600 they stopped making and it does OC like a champ. You won't need the extra 2 cores, games support 2 dual cores now not four. If you don't like to upgrade often get the Q6600 for future proofing, but you'll still get better benchmarks/FPS with a E8400 in games.
