I get lag for like 10-15 minutes and it leaves for like 10 minutes and comes back again, and the thing is, I don't know what's causing the problem. I'm playing on a new custom computer with a good graphics card and all that, yet I still get lag on games that I'm not supposed to, like COD4 it came with my NVIDIA 9800GT graphics card, I still lag on that. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this computer!! I got it at a cheap price and replaced some things that just simply wouldn't do. SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

well specs would help...did you build said pc yourself?

I'm going to suggest low graphics settings.
yeah, specs would help a lot. Do you have anything running in the background? If it happens on a regular basis then having something eating cpu time in the background is a possibility. Also if you could give us load and idle temps of both the cpu and gpu, that'd be very helpful.
I have my graphics card on what setting their supposed to be on, again it's an NVIDIA 9800GT that came with COD4 and lags on there as well. Lag comes around and my FPS goes from the 100's-200's down to 9!! It even does this on COD4, but anyways, my motherboard as an ASUS (not sure what kind, will have to look at box and update). My processor is an AMD athlon 64x2 DUAL which is actually a descent card (Core processor 6000+, 3.10GHz, 2.50 GB of RAM). Other than that stuff my computer should be fine, it's running on Microsoft Windows XP 2002 version on SP3
yeah if you're on a weak line then no matter what you'll not do well. if you aren't sure what kind of line you have check www.pcpitstop.com and check your bandwidth
