With thanks to Martin Briley for Salt in My Tears

I never made it, no, I can't take it
Why should I die for you anymore
You ran right by me, disguised and knifed me
I see the spy I never saw

I saw you laugh when the knife was twisted
It still hurts but the pain has shifted
You must have cloaked when you drifted by
But I won't cry for the wasted fears
'cause you ain't worth the salt in my tears

Feeling neglected, abused and dejected
Who had my back when I moved on?
Maybe you picked him, found your next victim
Don't worry someone will come along

I'll break the rush that would sweep me under
I'll help my team through the pain and thunder
I'll lose track of the time and I'll wonder why
But I won't cry for the wasted fears
'cause you ain't worth the salt in my tears

I'll sit around and drink a few more beers
Until the memory just disappears
'cause you ain't worth the salt in my tears

I saw you laugh when the knife was twisted
It still hurts but the pain has shifted
You must have cloaked when you drifted by
But I won't cry for the wasted fears
'cause you ain't worth the salt in my tears

'cause you ain't worth the salt in my tears
'cause you ain't worth the salt in my tears

Theres a tear in my beer
cause Im cryin for you,
Dear you are on my lonely mind.
Into these last nine beers
I have shed a million tears.
You are on my lonely mind
Im gonna keep on sittin here
Until Im petriified.
And then maybe these tears
Will leave my eyes.
Theres a tear in my beer
cause Im crying for you, dear
You are on my lonely mind.
