I used 'Reset Stats' and...

Well, I assume Valve instead of bringin out TF3 will want to update each class as much as possible, so you may have to choose which weapons to use, and also, there are console commands that are "tests" I need to find the actual commands which show that you may be able to pick up fallen weapons and use them... *imagens pyro scout*

Come on guys, its been a while now since people have been asking Valve for a stat reset... and now they have answered. The stat resets everything, including any "progress" you were making on an achievement. However if you already met the achievement then it won't matter.

I usually welcome any update then none, but this new one is a bit weird at best. So I'm waiting to see what happens before I start screaming like everyone else is doing right now. :chair:

I reset my stats yesterday, I'm kind of taking a little break of TF2 for a while and when I'm back, I'll start all over again. :)
So yeah, my stats are reset but my steam profile still shows some stats... Some stats are wrong. It doesn't show the correct amount of kills for some classes and I don't have the same amount of hours of a class that I did have before I reset my stats. That's odd.

ok but, what if I play demoman and in order to 'make room' for the demo items I erase scout stuff. Then 300 hours later I decide I'm bored with demo and want to play scout, but those weapons are gone. What then?

And why choose between the weapons anyway, are steam servers too low on space to hold boolean variables now? Weapons are per account so per game copy anyway, it's not like diablo2 where you can have a million accs and chars so blizz makes your guys expire if you don't login with them

or maybe they put it in as a joke to balance the actually quite useful reset feature

I WOULD FULLY reset my heavy's stats/achevments IF I could rearn them... I used an achement server to get somethings before I knew how freaking easy they are really to get them. I guess Value is trying to make you question if you really want to reset them..

I really don't get the whole "lets erase our whole history" thing, but as people have mentioned before, I'm a programmer and deleting data causes me the creeping jitters.

But permanent deletion of weapons? I can delete my BONK! and never get it back again not ever? I don't see a use for that. But that's another thread.

Deleting stats delete stats. Some achievements require non-deleted stats. While Valve should have made it clear that your Chief of Staff achevement will be reset... but surprise!

Personally, I won't be using the delete stats or backpack. When I saw TF2 update, I got excited. But it was a pretty meh update.

Then you don't delete your scout stuff... SIMPLE! :P:P nah Im joking. Look at it this way, they bring out 3 more sets of weapons per class, which will equal 5 in total.

Say as a medic you have:

Normal Medigun
Kritzkrieg
3rd Weapon
4th Weapon
5th Weapon

You may have to pick out of those which you would use the most, maybe say 3 or 4 of them. (I know if this happens I'll accidentally kill the normal medigun :( )

i've never farmed achievements - BUT for some reason my stats show my longest life as a demoman as something like 242 hours? definitely something wrong with that. I haven't reset my stats, cause it really doesn't matter to me what it says.

I reset mine. I was kinda hoping it wouldn't reset playtime but oh well. I saved a screen of my playtime so I can remember my old playtime(and prove Im not a noob:(). It'll be nice to see how my play time distribution is different than when I started playing.
