So, what constitutes a hack?

Aye like other people I have play with Mr. Lead regularly, he is an outstanding player and from the way he talks on the mic he seems like an older person, I am pretty sure I have never seen him with anything besides a sniper or a rifle.
 
Some say they play to win; I say they are just bad losers.

Cheaters use an advantage because they need one to win.

Sad really, their loss not yours. You get better, they stay bad.

I've seen many cheaters come and go since I started playing CS/DoD 7 years ago. You'll notice they have some super-long STEAM_ID like 10067587453 instead of a 6 or 7-digit STEAM_ID like the really good players have. That's because they have to buy a new Steam account after VAC bans them, usually takes a few months.

thats the thing, everyone knew where he was, and was always laying into him. we were even making it a point to keep the middle smoked, yet he could see and hit people right through it. I personally killed him many many times with my fist, its not that he is impossible to kill, its the way he gets his kills and why the whole server was saying the same thing.
Even a few eGO guys/admins said the same thing.

And for the person that said he is just a good player, nobody is that good. ive been playing DoD for many years, and I consider myself a pretty good player (ask anyone who has played with me) but I have never seen anything like this other then when running into people using these little "tricks"

the point that an outsider made the point to come in here, sign up to the forums, and bring this to the attention of the admins and the rest of the clan and you guys are sitting back, not taking it serious, and taking up for someone that is obviously not playing fair shows the tru nature of this clan and/or some of the admins, and if thats the case well then I think I will retire my e tag and move on to a more mature level headed clan.
That included with how I seen an admin acting in the KK server today threatening to ban a few people because someone asked "whats the O in eGO stand for" when he was threatened a ban people jumped the admin, and he threatend other bans to those people.

I look up my screen right now and see where it says "a mature gaming clan" but I have my doughts now.

so make fun of me if you will, tell me to piss off, it dont bother me. I really enjoyed a few of the members here, hopefully eGO will get their act together and progress.

If anyone has a problem with this, I will be in game somewhere and will be more then happy to play it out :)
 
I've aimed and shot/killed people through the smoke. Its not that hard, really, if you know the tendency of players and where key points are on maps.
 
210-60 with a SNIPER IS NOT THAT hard if ur a good sniper like i know ive done way better than that so has Alpha and Mr lead and Kooter and LT WOLF doesnt even need a sniper to do that he uses a rifle and still goess 200 and 50 so i believe with a sniper u cant tell u have really good player and u just take a demo and let the Steam Dudes take care of it if it is hacking he gets kicked but if its not than hes fine
 
We take accusations very seriously, anyone thought to be hacking will be specced. Though we also take cereal hacking accusers seriously as well, try not to accuse every other good player of hacking.
 
Mr. LEAD in my opinion is an easy guy to take out he camps the german sniper house door way left side and top right window in the bottem left corner constantly its not hard to put a rifle nade/rocket/unload an mg on him to get the kill sometimes two shots w/ a garand through does the trick you just have to be smarter than a camper

Loco I agree with corp punishment on this and one other note. An accustation should not be in the terms of "he said she said they did he did we did." We are not trying to be negative or disrespectful to you or make a slight at your honesty but we cannot without any other knowledge other then your own discomfort kick someone for playing the game. That would be very unfair. Sorry I wont quote so I hope I dont get this wrong. You stated earlier to the effect of why cant people just play the game and have fun and not cheat. It might just be that that is exactly what hes doing. So keep that in mind and once again, have fun and enjoy the game. ^^;
 
Mr. Lead will hand you your *** almost everytime, he is a good player, and has been specced and cleared by many of our admins. 210-60 isn't that great of a score if you think about it, no offense.
Its only 3.5 KDR. I am continually accused of hacking.... especially on Strand with my 101 KDR (101:1), whowouldathunk? lol
 
I kill about 3 to 5 people through smoke every time I play with sniper. It helps to have a scope there and then I just look for even the slightest movement, and BANG!
 
especially if the smoke doesnt cover the complete entrance, if you see someone running into smoke, its pretty easy to pick them off at an entrance to a hallway or door or whatever just because you know they'll be there. after that its timing

I find your argument to be incorrect and poorly formed in several ways. I took the time to read your post, so I hope that you can take some time to read mine. You might learn something:

1) You CAN see and hit people through smoke. Smoke is thinnest at the start and end of the detonation - it's not thick throughout. Some players think smoke confers total invisibility upon them, and that couldn't be further from the truth. Just because you threw smoke, and someone shot you through it, does NOT mean that they're hacking. I routinely hit people through thick smoke, because I direct my rounds through common bottleneck areas. I wait as long as I can to see if someone runs through the smoke while it's thin. When it thickens to the point that I can't see, I wait a moment, and then fire - often missing. But when I DO hit, it often appears extravagant and suspicious when, in fact, all I'm doing is playing odds and thinking ahead. Mr. Lead, and other good shooters, play the exact same way.

2) I'm the one that said that he's a good player. He IS that good, and so am I; depending on the day, he and I often bump each other out of the top ranking spots. Here's the simple truth of it: I can appreciate his skill because I recognize his playing methods. You can't appreciate his skill, because you don't recognize his playing methods. Don't use yourself as the basis for all your comparisons.

3) This one really, really bothers me. "I've been playing longer than you, so I know more than you!" Pfft. Your presupposition that you somehow have a greater, better, or more worthwhile understanding of the game just because you've played for X years, is fallacious on the following basis: The quantity of time for which you have played HL, CS, DOD, CSS or DODS is absolutely irrelevant. Playing for a long time does NOT equate to or confer skill or knowledge about the game upon you - it only makes you THINK that you know a lot. I know many people who have played for several years, and they suck horribly and haven't learned anything. Conversely, I have friends who started playing recently who play just as well as the highest ranked players on the Ego servers. I have played HL games and mods since early 1999, and I learn something new every single time I play. Additionally, and because you brought it up, I've played with you, and I don't think you're a particularly outstanding player in any noticeable way. Sorry.

4) The fact that an "outisder," as you put it, bothered to sign up on the forums to express his concern doesn't mean anything special.

73, though you were correct on some points of your argument I dont think its right for you to ridicule a person just for bringing to our attention a potential hacker.

Now Mr. Lead is cleared, and we all played with him so we know he is not hacking, but this unncessary hostility towards a person who was only trying to find something out so that he could enjoy his gaming experience isnt the correct way to go about things. Though well written, I dont think you intended that post as anything more then a hurtful statment and for that I think you should atleast apologize or risk the chance of others not coming to us with problems and think of our clan as "unfair" because of your post. It doesnt matter about skill or how long we play.

We have to stick to the points and rules of our clan. He does not belong to the clan and as such may say anything he wants to us, we are bound by EGO rules and as such we should respect his request in any way that it was stated. Thanks.

I'm sorry that you think that. Rather than assuming that I'm being antagonistic, please first assume good faith instead.

Since I wrote the post, and it's a reflection of my thoughts and opinions, that means that I am the one that gets to decide the intent, not you. Given that, I will state my intent: it was to provide critical, intelligent feedback in response to his argument - not to be hurtful.

Please don't read too far into it.

Perception dictates behavior, what we percieve is our own experience and our own views on the subject. I could not see what your intent was and its logical to assume some others might not either so I brought it to you.

Now lets not have this thread turn into an argument over what means what, because theres no right and wrong. I just hope you are able to see what I meant by my post. All for the good of the clan. You clarified it for me and anyone to read this after me so thank you.

You're welcome, and thanks for giving me the chance to make that clarification. Unfortunately, this is one of the downsides to communicating by typing - it's often difficult to interpret someone's tone. Sometimes we miss subtle clues, or add in hostilities, that are otherwise clear when engaged in verbal communication. *shrug* It's one of things that I hate about the internet.
