Hello!!
So first of all, i do not intend for this thread to be a complaint or whinning or anything...i hope i can avoid wording it as such.

So i would like advice or help on a problem that i have.
If you play with me, you've probably heard me say it, but i mostly get poor registry on our delightful eGO servers....not always! but most of the time. Now i know we have the great "fix your CSS lag" thread, and i've gone through it. Im just wondering if this is something i need to live with, or if anything could possibly be done.
More info: Well its obvious that not everybody gets poor registry...cause there are some real dominate players that will play on our servers. Also, i do not always have the problem. There will literally be times when im 40-10 or 20-10 or 10-10. It does not happen on all other servers, im usually a 2:1 kdr average.
I have gone through and set my rates to the point where i do not get any choke (maybe jumps to 10 at the very start of the round, but comes down quickly) which is cl_cmdrate 60 (max, since the eGO servers restrict it to this setting) and cl_updaterate 30. i also have cl_interp 0.067 (server set) and cl_interpolate 1.
umm im a pretty consistent player...i've been playing since 1.5 a couple months before 1.6 came out. I dunno...what else i could say that might be informative for the best possible outcome of help.
frantic tried to help me out through a basic training session on the scrim server, still seemed to have shot at him, get the blood decals but no damage. Uhh and it seems to happen more frequently with more players online.

So does anybody possibly know if there is a way to help/solve/rid of this? If anybody wants, you can join me in game and spec me...maybe it is just my aim?

yes i figured i'd get a bunch of posts of ppl saying this, which is kind of insulting. i should just take a demo, cause its seriously stuff like a guy not even looking at me, crouching, me standing still, aim at his face, shoot with AK like...POP........POP......POP and nothing hits.
i was hoping to avoid such comments by saying that im very experienced a the game, happens primarily on eGO servers etc...

i know what you are saying Junk, it happens to me sometimes too. Some games I can't miss and others i can do the exact same thing or better and never hit/damage them.
Try using different guns when this happens - swtich to the ones u can jsut spray and pray liek teh para or p90 then go back to ur aimin guns - someitmes helps

I think the people who said anything about your lack of skill did not both: read your post and look at your sig. Lol that rank should speak for itself.

As for the periods of bad reg, it happens on just about any server, you tend to not notice it unless you frequent a server. Although I will say spray and pray does help when the reg is bad, I've sprayed into hall of office before with an AK and gotten lucky headshots.

yes lately i've taken demos of myself and rewatched...i have been spraying with an AK more often than i'd like to admit
i usually play on deathmatch servers in order to calm my nerves and stay focused with picking the shots.

Well, it could be that you're missing. There is also just blatant lag. Even with ~50 ping you're going to lag a little bit.

I don't think anyone was questioning your skill in any way shape or form. People miss.

The thing is, if you've done everything you could to fix it, and it still happens, whats the next possible thing it could be? It could just be missing. It comes off kind of arrogant when you say it can't possibly be that, everyone misses.

nope guys junk is pretty good wen he does get his shots on
ive played with him and yes ive heard him say tat the registry is bad
but i don't think hes missing

im not saying i never miss, cause yes everybody misses...but i can tell when i miss and i can tell when im standing still, with my crosshairs right on a guys head/body whatever and shoot 2 bullets, see blood, record no damage.
possibly im just missing the hitboxes

When the reg is bad it is a disparity between you and the server.
It sounds to me like you've tried everything you can (fixing your rates) so it could just be that the server is having a hard time keeping up with you.
Even more so its not just the server, its your network, the server's network, and every network in between.

See if the bad reg happens at any certain point during the day. If it does and you have other people on your network see if they do anything during that point. Otherwise it could just be heavy load any point between you and the server. There's really not much you can do. Just remember its a game, if you miss a few shots its not a matter of life and death .

(P.S: This is why people who play this for gobs of cash usually play on LANs)

This is what I've noticed...

Sure you can spray and pray, and it kills your "bullet registration", but it's actually the amount of people that are on at that particular time. See - when you play with lets say, 12 people (for people oh aren't paying that much attention, it generally means 6 v 6). Registration is fine, because there isn't a giant pack flow going to and from the server. Now when there is lets say 28 to about 32 people...you start to see the problems because either the bandwidth is capped and is causing some "lag" issues that the client can't see because it is server side, or your internet can't handle the intensive packet flow.

Well sometimes the registration is off a little when the servers go a long time without a restart.

i have good and bad days too man

just last week i finished a round at like 45-8 and then proceeded to lose about 700 server points over the next 24 hours

lag happens but i dont blame it...i understand i just have periods where im on my game and periods when i am not

ooo funny thing tho!!
you know how you can watch all the youtube vids about how at least on lan's the hitboxes are so far ahead of the actual people....
well i tested this out, and it totally isn't true (for me at least). so you just click on create a server...make sure the bots cannot use any weaps so they chase you with knife. type sv_cheats 1 and sv_showhitboxes 2 into console after you connect and you'll see the hitboxes. if you want you can type host_framerate 100-200 in order for everything to be in slow motion, that way its easier to see and aim etc.
i did this and shot at the hitboxes, no damage...but when i shot the model i did damage
