What do you miss about the original DoD?

You could remove the icons over their heads even in the original version, at least as far back as I played it.

I also miss cherborg and a lot of the others.

I miss the glitch where you could fire and dive at the same with the bar ( or tommy, stg 44, etc ), LOL. I miss the maps a lot ... caen was our favorite. I miss the para maps, the para weapons, para soldiers ( axis and allies ). I like maps like heatue ( i think i spelled it wrong ), cherborg, ramelle. I don't miss the old K98 at ALL !!! Those crazy shots from across the map, getting hit in the toe by the 98 ... 100% damage ... forgetaboutit ! I miss the garand butt to the head .. me giving it not receiving it. When we had our own server I miss the admin mod .... slapping a punk across the map ... Llama ( classic !! ) someone .... LOL :laugh:

I also miss the British. The bren was my favorite weapon.
I remember playing at a gaming cafe, we would get everyone in the place playing a good ol' LAN game. Nothing better than shooting someone, and immediately hearing an expression of frustration from across the room.

I most certainly miss the Staff Sergeant Class. That Carbine should be able to be used as a class over the M1. Further, the deployable Bar helped ease the huge advantage that the MG-42 has over the 30-Cal since a player could deploy a BAR quickly and create a moving lite MG like threat. Moreover, the maps were great.

Oh good time with DoD back in the day. K98 with the bayonet was awesome. The true one shot k98 (One shot across the map hit the toe and watch them cures your name). The one thing I dont miss is being called a punk noob for using the k98

i miss the mg34, and definitely the fallschirmjager weaps. g43 was a good weapon too.

sorely missed is the piat, sten and bren.

mostly, though, i miss the map dod_kraftstoff

I miss being able to blow the sides of buildings out to make a different route accessible.

I miss the BAR-bipod, the thing just flat out owned.

I miss the map "Thunder". Donner is a mirror image of it.. speaking of which.. who misses the bunker in the Donner field??

i miss having the m1 carbine class, grease gun class, m1 garand butt stock hit to the head, kar98 bayonet, scoped fg-42, dod_caen2, dod_dog1 (the original strand/charlie map!), para maps, plus some of the other original maps i can't remember the names of right now haha
