This is a small step by step guide for all the people who have used GardenGroveVWs guide: "Learn how to create your own server." while you might have succeded in making a dedicated server, you might not be able to have your friends join it, that's what this guide is about.

Steps:

Step 1. Which router are you using?
You have to find out which router you are using in step 1, if you don't know what a router is, simple grab your cable and follow it. Otherwise try to connect to either http://192.168.0.1/ or http://192.168.1.1/

Step 2. www.portforward.com
Now that you found out which router you are using, you going to this website called www.portforward.com, the guys who run this site has made picture guides for almost every router out there, you find your router on the list.

Step 3. Choosing game
Now that you have picked your router on the list, you are going to pick the game you want to open ports for and be able to host in, in our case we choose the one called "Half Life 2 Steam Server".

Step 4. Following the guide on www.portforward.com
You know follow the guide you see, it's pretty simple if you follow the guide.

Step 5. Profit see www.whatismyip.com to get your external ip
You are now done, and you should be able to host a game for your friends.

Q&A will be added here, if anyone asks questions

Forward ports: 27015, 27016
www.whatismyip.org - yourip:27015/27016 (depending on which is configured by the srcds tool)

If the server isn't showing up in their server list, type 'heartbeat' into the srcds tool and it'll force it to show up the server list.
