problem getting dod.s to work

hi when i load up dod.s to start playing it loads up the screen with the blocks head and the valve coming out of it and the screen that follows that saying powered by source after which the game just closes itself down and i cant do anything else with the game. i have done a full re install and the problem still not resolved and ideas please

You could try turning off the loading videos and seeing if that works.
To do that you right click on DoD:S in your Steam games list -> click Properties -> click set Launch Options -> type "-novid"

If that doesn't work, go to Launch Options and type "-autoconfig" without the quotes. Same thing happened to me recently and this fixed it.

Try that and let us know. If that still doesn't work and you are running Vista, there's one more thing to check.

If your running widows vista try running it in compatibility mode, Go to the Steam Directory and find the DOD:S folder, right click on the application and go to properties then click the "compatibility" tab and check run in compatibility mode.

Check the integrity of your game files. Right click on DoD:S, select properties and under the Local Files tab, press the "Verify integrity of game cache.." button.
If there is something wrong with the files, steam will download the missing files.

He said he reinstalled it therefore that problem would have been fixed.
