Hacked accounts yet again.....

... I am blown away that people actually manage to get hacked. Other than when hackers the battering ram method (A program that randomly goes through combinations of numbers and letters until it gains access) common sense will stop you from getting hacked

He kept sending me strange group invites which I KNEW were scam sites because it was like somewebsitethatisn'treal

Just a Thing too.
apparently they ask you to join their group and send you a link
If they wanted you to join theyd send the invite through steam, so that it comes up saying "You have 1 new invite"

and ya i believe u sent me that link allster i signed in with a fake ID and it changed me to a french site which i had translated for me and was calling me names saying your account has just been stolen lol,

but i used a random User name : Kevin schmedal PW: gayness.
lol so yes this is not good if you dont get it through steam ignore it and just tell 1 of the admins from steam so they can take care of the problem :)

and no thats not near my Username nor pw :)

Iv had 5 attempts to hack my account all failed.

because they use the same two things to try and get you the attempts made on me through STEAM chat all trying to promote Free Games and Steam Community links.

other way that they try to hack accounts is through key loggers which are downloaded by getting skins or mods for your game from a fake site always use a Anti Virus to scan your downloads so the jist of my message here is


Don't click on Links over STEAM chat

Don't Download from Unknown Sites

Yeah . in 4 years with steam ive only been scamed 1 time . that time was a fake thing telling me my steam ticket expied . i almost fell for it too . If they invite you to a group without using steam , its fake
 
One thing I want to make clear, is you dont have to enter in any details, the accounts that have been hacked now are coming up as legitimate steam group invitations

Yes to join a steam group such as edge gamers!!

You dont have to enter in any details, accepting a steam group invitation is enough !

just use common sense and dont use the same username and pw for random stuff on the net as you use for steam and your e-mail
 
Heck, if I am chatting with Jinsei or Koden and they send a link, I copy+paste it to my browser, not click. :P Most the time, they are just youtube vids of L4D, since we all play together, but it still never hurts to be too careful.
 
Man, I'm getting targeted left and right. I must have a lot of enemies out there?

I get so many friend requests from people I don't even know and from those wearing either the (e) or (eG) tag wth links attached to them to join their community page. When I click on their name to check their steam ID page, it doesn't exist. Or I'll get a message saying that they haven't joined steam yet and to get them to sign up. And they are already tagged up with an (e) or (eG)??????

Watch out people who use our membership tags posing as one of our clansmen and who might try to lure you in a false website or try to steal your account. If you don't know them, don't accept them.
