I recently got an IBUYPOWER custom computer, and a plantronics Gamecom 367 headset. I plug in the headsets headphone and mic jack, but my comp will say that the jack has been unpluged, so if anyone could help that be great . Thanks

Do you have something else you can test the jack with?

Also, did this headset come with a Driver CD?

It's possible that it is detecting the headset but does not know how to use it without the drivers which could be why it's saying it's plugged in and then not.

Are you using the audio ports on the front or back of your computer?

the front has the ports for the headset and the mic, but im using the front. actually it works on some occasions, but it decides to work or not work

Did you mean:
the front has the ports for the headset and the mic, but im using the back?. actually it works on some occasions, but it decides to work or not work

In either case, make sure you have the jack plugged in all the way. Perhaps if you plugged it in while the computer was off, then turned it on it might recognize it.

Are you switching back and forth with speakers and the headset?

i dont have speakers, other than the ones on the monitor, and i tryed switching those, but didnt work

You could try updating your audio drivers.

I would assume you have already tried the front ports?

yea i used the front ports before, and they worked fine, but i figured something might be wrong with the ports themselves because to use the headset, i have to push the jack a certain way or i'll get a pop up saying that the audio jack has been unplugged. and its nearly impossible to reach the ports because all the disk drive holders are in the way ( the jack is on the bottom right, so a lot of things are covering it)

Well, my suggestion is to clean up the area around your computer and plug it into the front ;)

What mother board/sound card are you using?

motherboard is a Asus P6T Intel X58 Chipset CrossFire and SLI Supported w/7.1 Sound, Triple-Channel DDR3, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, 3-Way SLI PCI-E MB 3-Way SLI
and the sound card is 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard

Is there something touching the connectors that would be affecting their contact? Like your I/O shield?

no, the motherboard and connecters arent close, but if i pushed the ports towards the front of the case, the headset works, but i have to hold it.....so i tryed to get to it but the disk holders and front fan are in the way of that, along with the internal bays :/

Can you post some pictures? I'm having trouble visualizing what your're saying. :(

and the internal bays are in the way (these arent exact pic)

well for some reason or other, the audio port worked in the back......so now there is no problem :D
