A very useful way to get better graphics

Call me dumb for saying this, but finding this out makes your games look A LOT better.

Look at your screen resolution under properties, then, go into your steam games, under options-Video-screen resolution, and change that to the one you found under your computer properties.

I assume most of you have found this out/had no trouble with this, but for those of you that haven't, if your resolution is the same in your games, it decreases pixel size a ton, making your graphics much smoother.

EDIT: Be sure your video card is awesome enough to handle it. If you notice major performance issues, cease immediately.

If this is a repost, god forbid, then delete it. :facewall:

Increasing the resolution is what makes the visuals better. By increasing the resolution, the amount of pixels increases allowing more detail to be rendered. However, this increases the strain on your video card by a lot.

yeah, it all depends on the card, and what your current resolution is at. Finding the perfect balance between them is always best to do.

My thoughts, find your native resolution, and go with that. If you got the power.

(i know the above statement is a DUH statement. But some people dont know.)

I don't think he means better graphics, so much as better performance, no?

Finallyfast.com has just reported that if you install their software they can increase frame rates on all graphics card by 120 fps.

j/k

In all honestly FPS will also depend on a GPU. Some GPUs perform better at some resolutions then others. Just because you get a 30 inch monitor with massive Resolution doesn't mean your graphics card can perform at those resolutions. The same goes for lower resolutions. Performance wise card are designed for optimal performance at a certian resolution so even lowering it past a set resolution makes the card perform worse.

The smaller pixels make everything look nicer. I did get some smoother game play too...

If you ended up decreasing the resolution, then yes, the game did run smoother. But if your current resolutions was (for example) 1280 x 720, it will never look as good as the same detail settings at 1920 x 1080.
