i was playing INS today and had vebnt running. i couldnt hear the people in vent b/c the ingame voice was to loud. so i changed my vent options so it would come through my headset and the game came through my speakers. it worked fine. then i restarted steam and now everything comes through my headset (everything sound that comes through my pc, like my music) when i put the options for vent (playback/recording input) to hear it from my headset. can i fix it? to get the game to come through my speakers and vent through my headset?

There are some programs that allow you to channel different sounds to different audio outputs. What I do is:

Open control panel > sounds
Select what sound device you want one program to go through (say vent, through headphones) so you select your USB headset and set as default device. Then open vent. Vent upon loading looks what device to use, and your computer says USB headset. Good. Then chance the default back to audio output, and launch your game, your game will check and see what device to use, and will use your audio output. But vent will still be using your headset.
