Well,i think the title explains it all,do you think music will enhance your gameplay, hence making you more accurate/powerful/concentrated?

it really matters what game, map, and game mode your playing.

like when i play a death match on css i always have music on.
but regualry i dont because i use my sound alot to hear people coming.

sometimes on dod ill play with some music, but then i cant hear all the people calling out positions, so its a win - lose for me.

Not for INS, i need complete concentration in order to play well. CSS is a different story however, i usually listen to music when i play, as that takes a lot less strategy imho.

yes, i have played on a server who had a nice plugin. It played some songs / themes etc. (MI, Blade and an arabic-song etc.). This made me not playing better, but it brings a more "realistic note" to the game.

I find that when i play CSS and im pubbin the music will sometimes help like disturbed for some reason seems to make me more accurate especially around the fast paced area's of there songs. But most of the time i play with no music just so i can hear people coming.

i turn everything down but voice comms software and in game ambient noises because I am hunting YOU. It's difficult to hear footsteps with either speed metal, snoop dogg or barry manilow drowning you out.

Music and gaming, separately the two most beautiful things in the world, but put together...i dont know...

In a game like INS, it doesn't work. You have to be able to communicate with your team and to be more aware of your surroundings, and music takes away from that. However, in a game like TF2 you don't need either of that. I think I actually play better with music in TF2 simply because the music I listen to gets my adrenaline running and I react faster. It's like caffeine without the drug.

Whats even worse is when Barry Manilow is rapping to speed metal! :w00t:

I never hear the footsteps then.

You, sir, are crazy. When Barry Manilow raps to speed metal it brings out the footsteps. He's just that awesome ;) :P

You guys are weird.
I might consider trying to listen to that, considering I'm practically def.

nope. it wont. if you want music playing then play it through ur pc while playing or through a cd player.

always need music to own, preferably metal, or hard rock.

always own with that stuff playing

*EDIT* oh, i can start up itunes and play it through my computer speakers, then plug my usb headshet in and start up the game, so i hear footsteps, gunshots, and other players perfictly, while at same time being able to listen to music perfictly.

I personally don't listen to music while I play games for a couple reasons. 1) it makes it harder to hear the foot steps of the enemy and 2) while listening to fast adrenaline filling music, you tend to do things without thinking, like sprint around a corner instead of slowly peaking with your iron sights.

Run and Gun games such as l4d are great for playing music in the background, although I think the in-game score is really nice and definitely enhances the "high adrenaline" moments.

However, INS is not a run and gun game.
