I read this in New Scientist a while back and just remembered it so yeah, read and enjoy!

gaming improves your eye sight

So take that all the naysayers of gaming

Shame it doesnt work out your other muscle though "looks around sheepishly"

I bet you I already knew that. Seriously though, I did know that. I also heard on the news once that games help develop the part of the brain that uses multiple languages.

That can't be true. I've been gaming all my life and I'm still barely passing my French class...

i can use this as an argument to argue with my father about me playing to much computer

I thought staring at a screen for hours made your sight worse...
What lol :confused1:

I think it's a bit more active than just "staring" allster. ;)

Thanks for posting this though. :)

Since I started playing games my eyesight has degenerated a lot. I know have vision problems and will probably be partially blind in 10 years.

not from playing games, I think I have some kind of eye disease.

I had 20/20 2-3 years ago.

Since I started PC gaming, my eyesight has dropped to 20/50. And I'm only 15 so I don't think it's because I'm getting old. :P

Yeah i think this study is for people who don't spend 10 hours a day in front of the computer.

The thing is they may be a couple yards from the tv. being close to a monitor hurts your vision in the long run as you are causing your focal length of your eye to be less than a couple feet from you and your eye starts to stiffen into being near sighted (or w/e being able to only see up close is).

Sitting down for 6 hours at a time to play video games can also cause circulation to decrease in your legs, causing fatigue and dizziness. Also, sitting that close to a screen makes you better at nearsighted objects not farsighted, it trains your eyes to see things that are close.
