What this doesn't show is how the boxes move when they hit a surface. The boxes will flow along it due to their momentum.

I actually didn't know that. But then again who would have :3.
Thanks for sharing this!

yeah, good tips...nice find. Never knew you could get extra distance with the flamethrower with the pyro's own momentum.

Here's another tip...

Two pyros are facing each other from maximum flamethrower range and flaming, one moves backwards in a straight line, the other moves towards them in a straight line. They both fire at the same time and keep up a steady stream. Who dies first?

The answer: The one moving forwards.

Why? Because while the one moving forwards can hit the other, they only do minimal damage due to the hitboxes touching at maximum range. Their hitboxes are also spread out more, so fewer hit.
The one moving backwards hits the other with hitboxes that hit at what counts as a closer range. Also, with the momentum, the hitboxes are bunched up in a smaller area. So more hit at a greater damage, sometimes 2-3 times as much.

Yes. And said the one moving forward, and I said that is not always the case.

edit: They could have been Dragon.

I always enjoy seeing how exactly the hit boxes work! That is really cool. Thanks for sharing.

I play pyro a lot of the time, so some of that seems almost 'obvious'.

However, there's some really awesome stuff on there as well that i'd never even considered, awesome link.

Also Thereven; I'd always wondered which made more sense, going forwards or going backwards so thanks for highlighting that one.

wow i never thought they were just boxes, also i didn't know that the fire could go through walls. Thanks for sharing :P

Yeah, i've seen this video before thanks for posting it for everyone else to see. Intresting video, shows a lot of stuff you don't think about.
