Well, I believe I have made this thread before, but nobody ever answered it really or helped so here it goes again.


I have followed countless tutorial videos on youtube on how to download a skin from fps banana for CS or CS:S or DoD:S or any game that I have but they never work when I attempt to save them or whatever. I am using Mozilla Firefox while I do this so please somebody help me. I might need a step-by-step tutorial over voice in Ventrilo to finally make myself understand so please guys if you're willing help me out =( I love how cool and awsome the skins are and I really want some. So if you could, please. Help me!! Thanks.

Ummm FPSBanana is a great website, they have tutorials on it to show you how to install just about anything, plus the even have guides for misc. stuff to like tips and tricks.

Im trying to get gun skins and then maybe some new models after that so gimme (PM me or post it here I guess) your STEAM or meet me in VENT sometime and we can chat like you said and you could help me out. Thanks in advance.

fpsbanana lets users steal skins and models from other mods then claim them as their own

Open the file once you download it and extract all the files to your desktop

Open you drive where steam is located (most are C:\ drive)
Open the folder of which game you are getting skins for.
For CSS it is cstrike, I'm not sure on what DOD: S is...

Minimise everything but the cstrike folder
(you need to be able to see the cstrike and not actually be in it)
When you have minimised everything you should be able to see the folders that you extracted before.
(They tend to be Materials, Model, Sound or Scripts)
Simply drag the files ontop of the cstrike folder.
If you get a messege asking whether or not to overright something say "move and replace"

OH one more thing, should you have a folder with another name like "dual elites" when you have extracted to your desktop...
All you have to do is open it and you will see the materials
Keep the file open the open cstrike and do what i said before ^__^

Well, the problem is is that when I save it with my FireFox I have no Idea where it goes. It just saves it wherever the hell it wants. So I have to find it and that's the hard part about it since I have million of folders since I have a nice amount of space. So, I would have to know where it saves to so for that I might need someone with FireFox or somebody that has done skins with FireFox to help me. Or, if nobody can help me with FireFox then I guess I could change my browser if needed. Thanks for the help though.

It's not your browser, I think it is software
you should NEVER save the file
Open it with a .zip file
ooor
get WINRAR
You will defo need that if you are going to open files you download from FPSbanana
I thought you were talking about how to apply the skins... not actually find them

Then when you download a skin open it with WINRAR and extract it to your desktop

OK, well, I got WinRar, I did your steps on 5 different skins, no luck. I used 3 different videos, no luck. So, I was wondering if maybe I could tell you one of the skins I want and then you can video yourself doing it by using hypercam which records your screen so I could see how it works to the very each detail. Because most videos are hard to understand.
