I have noticed that there are "post your" threads about several things...weapons not being one of them so I decided to make this thread for those of us that do have weapons and would like to show them off and/or discuss weapons. I hope by making this thread that some younger ppl here that are exposed to the weapons in the FPS's we support gain a better understanding/knowledge of the firepower and damage that these weapons can really inflict and that they understand the kind of responsibilty/upkeep that is required with some firearms/weapons out there. So ya, post w/e you have(but plz nothing that CAN be used as a weapon but has another primary function, but actual weapons), be it a collectors item, something your grandfather gave you etc...and if you want or can, post a little back story of it (if it was given/willed to you by an older relative or what have you) or whether or not it was a good buy or a big mistake.

This is my Izhevsk Mosin Nagant 91/30. My first firearm purchase and only a few days ago. I'm in the process of cleaning it so this is the "best" picture I have for now. This was after I "completely" stripped it.

And this is a Harrington and Richardson .38 S&W, The American Double Action. Not so collectable but it was given to me by my grandma three days before she passed away. So needless to say even if it were collectable I wouldn't sell it, even in perfect condition; which it is far from. But all it needs is a little TLC

Ok, here is my weapon. I know it's not much, but packs quite a punch. I bought off of this Russian friend that I have for like $50...he said it had like a 30 kiloton yield...what ever that means.

2 - 12 Gauge Shotguns (1 for hunting, 1 expensive one for show)
1 - .243 Scoped Rifle with a floating barrel (For hunting)
1 - .30-06 (For hunting bigger game)
1 - Glock 9mm

Most are put in storage in a gun case with a lock and a keypad-password for extra safety. Most of the guns (all except the Glock 9mm and the shotgun, not the collectors expensive one but the hunting one) was given to me by my father when he passed away. All of them work flawlessly (dunno about the show shotgun, never shot it or even put it together) and I often go to the shooting range to keep my eye/hand steady and to keep the scopes on target. I bought the Glock 9mm for personal safety purposes only ( I live in Tucson... right next to Mexico and there are heavy Cartel problems in the city) and the rest are for hunting (I hunt for the meat, not for the hell of it).

No pics of mine especially, but here are the guns I use the most, all for target shooting (hence the low calibers), but they're still definitely classified as weapons. I'll see if I can find pictures on Google.

• Winchester Semi-auto .22 my Dad got as a kid and lets me use (Feeds from a tube under the barrel, much like a lot of shotguns.) After some research, I found that it appears to be a Winchester 190
• Recurve bow (only 25 pounds draw weight, not much of a weapon XD) Similar to the first few here, without the writing on the upper arm
• Tomahawk from Cabelas Like this (those things are fun )
• I also often use my Dad's .22 Hi-Standard Semi Auto pistol (same brand and basic design as that, at least), and sometimes his Ruger revolver, also a .22 (heck, I don't use that enough to remember what it really looks like, but it's a black revolver, wood grips, has the Ruger emblem pretty big on the grip)

Other stuff in the family I DON'T use is our underfolding, semi automatic AK-47, Military 1911 (I've been able to fire a few shots), and some other, mostly historic stuff my Dad has that's in storage and never used. Most people who know about guns should know what those two look like.

I'd love to get some pictures of the stuff one of our friends has, he (legally) owns pretty much everything - Stens, Thompsons, AR types, a pistol about the size of the palm of my hand, big MGs from WWII, Civil War stuff... you get the idea. They're all stored in a concrete room with a vault style door :O

And he knows how to use them lol. Don't want to mess with that guy.

1 : 12 gauge, side by side shotgun

I use it occassionaly for shooting clay pigeons but much more for going shooting, depending on the season its anything from grouse to partridge to pheasant

Has anyone ever refinished a stock for a rifle?? If so I need help. I have been cleaning my Nagants stock with 000 Steel wool and Murphys wood soap, that part went well. But after I stained it, Minwax Red Oak about one day ago, and it still hasnt dried any advice??

If you need help in that area i always use the forums off of this site http://7.62x54r.net/ but if i were you id just buy a synthetic stock unless you like the classic look.

Ill post some pics of my other guns, but ill have to bust out my camera for my Mosin!

Ya, I tried the website and I love it, so much info on all the models. lol, I am trying to keep the classic look. I just need a way to speed up the drying process. its been like 48 hours and its till not all the way dry

Anyone with handgun knowledge plz help me. Im thinking about getting my dad a handgun for Fathers Day, we've talked about it and narrowed it down to a Beretta PX4 Storm F model, a Beretta PX4 Storm .45 SD and a Sig Sauer P226. So what which one is a better pick for someone that hasnt picked up/fired a handgun in awhile. He may also be using the handgun for his DPS job at SLU. So keeping those factors in mind, which is the "best" pick of the three? Any help will be awesome. Thank you in advance.

Hey Animal Mother -

Most people have VERY strong opinions around handguns. Usually they love one or two names and won't touch anything else, so getting a non-biased opinion can be pretty hard from the gun community ;-)

Sig Sauers and H&Ks tend to be near the top of the food chain for hand guns. I personally like H&Ks better - but that's because they fit my hand more comfortably and tend to be a little better constructed. The P226 is a pretty decent weapon. If money isn't a factor I would buy the Sig.

I don't really like Beretta's in general - I just don't like the look of the gun. That being said, the Beretta PX4 Storm .45 SD is a really nice weapon. Of the two Beretta's I'd definitely go with that one.

well since i guess this is the best place to talk about it. my favorite handgun has to be a 1911 .45 those are fun to shoot. still waiting to shoot my friend mouser's dad's m1 garand, i would also love to get my grubby mits on a thompson. full auto .45 must be sexy.

Thank you for the reviews. I would get the H&K handgun if i could find one for sale near me, but the gun stores, target ranges and outdoor shops around me dont carry H&K, for some unknown reason. Also my dad is kinda shying away from the .45 now-not as strong as he used to be I guess. I know what you mean about the trouble finding a non-biased opinion, but better to have an opinion from someone that has fired a handgun opposed to just watching youtube videos to try and gauge the kickback . I may have to try harder to find an H&K handgun.

Uhh...which 1911? Kimber, Colt, Beretta, Taurus-im only asking cuz I want one when I turn 21. Garands are nice to fire, Lee-Enfields are pretty nice too. Tommy guns, both versions, are very "sexy" to fire
