I wouldn't play Spy if I were you, until you got a better hang of TF2 and how the different classes work.

Scout and Pyro are good starts, also Soldier.

Welcome, milkbone!

I learned the game by playing the Medic class. I wasn't so good at first, but if you just keep healing your teammates and follow their directions, you'll be just fine.

Kamon's suggestions are also good.

Welcome again, and have some fun out there!

hey milkbones welcome to eGo. Hope to see you in the servers ...

Do what I did to learn how to be good at TF2....watch Josey Wales play, then do everything the opposite of him and you will do fine :)

Welcome hope to see you in game

Really, any class you enjoy a lot you should just start with that and start practicing. First bounce around and see what you seem to like, then start working on it. Makes it a lot easier if you stick with 2-3 classes.

Youtube videos are for the win. Just go type how to play whatever class and you'll come up with something. Evil Daedalus is pretty famous for his basic beginners guides on scout, pyro, spy, and engineer. Other than that, just get out and play.

Medic is the way to go. You heal and follow other players around to see and observe about the map. Medic is also a must need for every team too!

Or if you played other FPS games before, you should try the Sniper.

Same style as other FPS games. Always get a headshot while scoped.

i think the easiest class to play is pyro w+m1 and you're golden. then you'll get better at it and start pwning. but bounce around and see what you like as someone else stated

+1 to Chemist.

And welcome to eGO!

Unfortunately nothing can subsitute time and practice when trying to master a class, skill, or weapon.

As said in previous posts, find a class you think you'd like to play a lot of (like a main class) and just spend time playing it. If there are certain skills or weapons you need more info about to get better with, find a video on YouTube and then ask for advice if needed.

also watch youtube videos some of them will help you out in some way and medic is an assist class so that would be a start

Yeah Youtube videos are the way to go but I think you should start off as a Medic, Engineer, or Pyro.
