Anyone taking advantage of the Sniper Update with other classes?

What Class are you selecting for the Sniper Update?

  • Scout: I think it's time to start launchin' people with the Sandman.

    Points: 6 9.4%

  • Pyro: Mmhmmph mmhmph mmph mmph! (More taunt kills anyone?)

    Points: 8 12.5%

  • Soldier: Show these maggots a thing or two.

    Points: 5 7.8%

  • Demoman: Wait till they're not looking, AND KABLOOEY!

    Points: 7 10.9%

  • Heavy: ...........Yeah, anyways, movin' on.

    Points: 3 4.7%

  • Engineer: With maybe one or two people pushing, lets try some camping.

    Points: 2 3.1%

  • Sniper: THIS IS THE ULTIMATE SNIPER COUNTER, YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!

    Points: 9 14.1%

  • Medic: The Huntman's probably weaker, lets keep the team alive.

    Points: 4 6.3%

  • Spy: See that guy who isn't scoping in? He was never really on your side.

Picture this, if you will. You decide to log into TF2 the day of the Sniper update, and hop into your nearest 2Fort Map.

WHEN SUDDENLY, SNIPERS EVERYWHERE AND NOBODY'S TRYING TO TAKE THE INTELLIG-

No, wait, that's 2Fort on a regular day. My bad.




All joking aside, who's gonna jump onto a class other than Sniper just to wreak havoc on those trying out their new toys and aiming for achievements, and what class will you pick?

Personally, I'm wiping the dust off my old Sandman Bat and dentin' in some heads with my taunt.
 
I'll play with the Sniper for a bit, but I'll go back to Pyro pretty quickly.
I can't wait to have lots of Snipers on Blackmesa. :D
 
It's hard for me. I usually wait for everyone else to abuse the class and then get the achievements. But Sniper's my favorite. But I'm a better Sniper against regular classes than against other Snipers so I don't know...

I think I'll go as Spy and blindside those head-shooting foo's!
 
It'll be interesting to see how effective the 'razorback' shield is against spys.
I'm guessing most snipers will end up using it, but depending on exactly WHAT 'jarate' does, it could leave a sniper very exposed at close range, alternatively, spys may just avoid snipers with it altogether and go for an easier target.

So; spy myself, but i may return to my own version of 'sniping' with the pyro's flare gun. Just as effective, even if you don't always get the kill.

Well if you're a great Sniper, think of it this way:
How many bad snipers are going to be out there, doing their best to get their achievements?

Sniper might actually be a good bet after all in your case.

Blindside who? Were all going to have shields on our backs, good luck.

I think I'll take advantage of all the inexperienced snipers out there :laugh:
 
Heavy. I can sneak with heavy real good, and then mow the snipers down, more life and most likely a dedicated medic with all the spys and snipers.
 
rofl, i'm probably gonna jump into an achievment map(hey it took 3 days on a scout achievement map anyway) NOT our 2FORT map... it's overcrowded

...Yeah, you best hope you can sneak real well. If it isn't the Snipers that get you, the Spies looking to pick off your own team's Snipers probably will.
 
One of my most favorite things to do in TF2 is flying scotsman bottle kill unsuspecting snipers. So watch out.

I also have an awesome spray for it so if you see it, you've been warned.

P.S. If i'm taunting, please wait until i'm done at least... :P

I rather do the scotsman pipebomb of death...you sticky jump pipebomb the place(and if your really lucky you land in time for your own pipebombs exploition)..
 
As long as the razor back stays out of the fray, then it's spy time for me!

same here, if anything that razorback will make the kill even more satisfying, whoever said I had to back stab em? ah revolver, soon your time to shine will come.
 
You know what's really fun to do? When you see someone walking ahead of you while you're playing Spy (and this works ESPECIALLY well if you're a fast typer), call out their name and ask them to 'Guess what?'. The moment they stop to respond, lay it on them. It's the most embarassing in-your-face jerk kill you'll ever accomplish.

And it's so worth it.
