Hokay, The time has come for Arn0t to do a new build.

This will take some time, and it will be lengthy, but i thought i would throw it up here just so everyone could take a gander and check it out. Also, it may seem like im over-doing it, but a quote taken from mythbusters, "if its worth doing, its worth overdoing" so thats my theory with this

no see i wouldnt get the I7 and get the phenom 2 x4 955 and then get 2 GTX 280 and sli them
 
$400 for a motherboard? Are you actually going to use all its features and also make an attempt at 'serious' overclocking? Otherwise, it's a waste of $200, money which can be spent on improving your graphics card instead.

You just saved $200, which can be better spent on replacing the GTX 260 with a HD4870X2.

Don't bother with SLi. It's only beneficial at 1920 x 1200 or 2560 x 1600, resolutions which the 4870X2 already excel at.

If you plan on Folding however, then go with the GTX 260s, but for gaming, stick with the renowned 4870X2.

CPU, RAM, Optical, HDD and the PSU look great. Ditch the CoolerMaster V8 (whoever named this thing should be fired for coming up with such an idiotic brand) and grab the Xigmatek S1283 linked to above.

@ Foxtrot - Watercooling eventually (given i have the money afterwards, i should be saving for a car, yet im building this) and thanks for the cooler, cheaper, and im sure better.

@ HardHat - Yes, $400 for a motherboard. and yes, i know, a bit over the top, but i really like how it looks, and like i said, if its worth doing, its worth overdoing. and knowing i have THE best motherboard on the market tells me i wont have to upgrade it for a while. If it dies, oh well. Next, I decided i wanted to go Nvidia on this build, not because i dont like ATI, but ATI are the only cards i have had. I really want to go with something new. Afterwards, i plan on getting a monitor that is 1920 x 1200 (currently im running 1680 x 1050) so i can use that. The video cards will be the last thing i buy and depending on where prices are at, that will determine what i get. The GTX 260's are in there as kinda a placeholder for pricing/to have video cards. I hope that that explains everything.

400$ just for the looks ? I'd rather give 400$ for a board that looks like ... but performs like the best.

well no, its not just for the looks. I like the features, and i want a motherboard i know i can overclock like crazy, so i figured i would go with this one. This is meant for extreme overclocks, and i want to see how far i can go with it. I guess there is alot more reason why, but its hard to describe exactly what i want to say.

If you want to overclock like crazy, invest some money in a liquid cooling set instead of a 400$ motherboard :)
 
yeah water cooling would come later. Right now i need something air cooling cause, believe it or not, im trying to keep costs down. But with the stuff i want. I want that board, so i took the cheaper version of the 2.

XFX good card makers for either ATI or Nvidia

I got the P6T Deluxe and it overclocks very good :)

I can go way more but I really don't need it ;) I've got to 3.8GHz with ease but I don't need it that fast.

Like i said guys, in my head right now, another motherboard isnt an option. Im going to be going with the Classified (as long as they are still selling it when i buy it)

You guys are probably thinking "wow, he has to have something wrong in his head. There are other motherboards out there right now that are great just like that but at a fraction of the price."

I know. but i saw this motherboard, and i was in love. and i basically made the build around that motherboard. Its what i have chosen, and i thank everyone for their suggestions on motherboards, but i have my heart set on the Classified.
