i dont even know how i found ins. it must have been around late december 2008. i was probably broke and looking for a free mod. i was stuck on css gungame and was VERY good at it. when lightning count(lol, i though it was lightning court!) first recruited me, he caught me on a good day. i was normally used to getting banned from servers (as my extraordinary pwning skills [and... unique name choices] lead others to accuse me of hacking or some other trickery and then i would get angry and fire back). now im here enjoying the gameplay and giving warnings to those who make bad decisions and praises to those making good ones. i have been in several clans before in different hl and hl2 mods, but i have finally found my home here and have grown and matured with this clan and my fellow brothers and sisters over the past few months. lets pwn each other! lol.

our bootcamp is superb. scswat runs a tight ship in there and it is similar to what you would experience in the military. i really dig that.

im not even trying to gain brownie points here, but i havent found another clan yet that is remotely similar to ours. we are truly pioneering things for others to follow. that is true developmental leadership.

im curious as to the beginnings of our other fellow gamers, so please post your story here. show your appreciation. if you cant donate funds, then donate your story for me and others to read.

What you say is true,i mean, all of us who joined and became an e ---> eG ----> eGO all have matured and somehow have been stickied to the clan,it's where all fine gamers unite and help each other, play with each other and sometimes, pwn each other, the bootcamp, the scrims, and all the fun time (sadly i was never there) but still, this is where we belong!

+3 brownie points!

i have a LONG past with gaming. I have been AROUND!(i still am)

I was a member with eGO about 1.5 years ago, i played dods alot and i went from a e to a eG in about a month or maybe little more. I was apart of a dods house which left, and started their own thing. I'm not into that, but when i was with eGO they had no ins and the game was new. I eventually started my own group of servers for ins and had a few friends admining. I love ins and i think the game is great. The more, solid/stable/well admined ins servers around the better! I'm not into the drama why i never left, and sorted dropped off activity after all the house crap came about.

I was born at the age of 3 in a little American town just south of Cuba.

:)

I found eGO on an INS server. I used to have a very stressful job and I would come home each day and relax with some INS. Then I found a server that was almost always full and spawncamp/teamkill/punk free. It was not long before someone I had been playing with asked me if I wanted to join.

I joined eGO from the TF2 division. I would run around being a W+M1 pyro on 2fort and just doing whatever, when pedro (you know, the dude with the dress from WaW) came into the server and was like "Who wants admin? It's free!" Me being the miserly cheap skate that I am, could not resist free anything. I got promoted in roughly two weeks to eG. Then I got stuck vent-camping in blackmesa as a soldier. Around that time the INS division was a few months old and Garden posted in the eG private forums that INS needed admins to come in for at least an hour a week just to keep it clean. I rallied to the call of battle and got addicted. Lucky for me, after switching divisions I got promoted to eGO in about two weeks.

Ill give you the story from the leadership standpoint, I mean besides Capy's...

I joined this clan about a year and a half ago in the TF2 division. I really enjoyed the friendly punk-free atmosphere that eGO fostered and started to join. I was no to the game and in a hospital bed, and it seems that people just kind of took me in and showed me the ways. I was promoted straight from e to O in about a month's time. From there I was promoted to advisor and head admin recruiter. I loved every minute of it...

Then there came a time that another advisor , namely BlackHawkSniper, made a thread in advisor private forums about a mod I had played a while back. INS was totally different from TF2, and I was kind of getting bored with the game. I played INS again and was surprised with all the changes that were made so I along with BlackHawkSniper and Sixxgunn, who has since left, pushed and pushed for a division to be created. This was truly no small task.

After about 2 weeks of campaigning, we were given a server and some forums and that was the birth of the INS division. The fun, stress, excitement, let downs, and the like havent stopped with the creation of this division. It is still growing, and as such needs a lot more care. USCG Hammer was our first advisor to the division and was promoted to Division Leader after the exit of Sixxgunn and BlackHawkSniper. A lot of things wouldnt be so if it wasnt for USCG Hammer.

The INS division, in my opinion, gives a glimmer of hope to the mostly lawless land that is Insurgency Mod servers. To all admins and members, help us make our mark on the INS community by showing public players who we are and what we stand for. Its truly the only way we can be succesful in our mission to end this overgrowth of punks in our favorite game.

Well some of you may know that I lost my job recently and am now enrolled for school (which is great, just the motivation i needed :D ), so really I found ins being extremely bored sitting at home waiting for school to start. I've been playing CS:S since 2004 with a very close friend; however, he moved and with college tuition and his newly acquired fiance hasn't had time to game. At that time I was bored of CS:S pubstaring and getting dominated in TF2, so I broadened my horizons. I found insurgency through a friend, who only played it for about an hour before he perma ragequit. lol. The eGO server was actually the first server I joined. FF OFF server at the time. Then for about a week or two I was just visiting all the pubs, I found some clans that can only be described with words I'd rather not write here, so upon my return to the eGO servers it took me about 10 minutes to find that this would be the perfect place for me. I asked Jedi how I would get my =(e)= (I had been familar with the clan because of my years of pubbing on CS:S.) He recruited me and I haven't looked back since.

USCG Hammer was our first advisor to the division and was promoted to Division Leader after the exit of Sixxgunn and BlackHawkSniper. A lot of things wouldnt be so if it wasnt for USCG Hammer.
I think i'm going to cry.....

My turn. I've been an avid gamer most of my life. I bounced around a lot of different clans, but none that I could call home. A friend of mine got me hoked on TF2 and we would jump around a bunch of different servers playing. Majority of the servers were full of meatballs being disruptive and rude. Not my idea of fun! We stumbled upon a couple of servers owned by a different clan but in order to receive admin you had to pay. I was apart of this clan for several months when by accident that I found eGO and their servers. I was quickly recruited by DJsatan and shown the ropes. Eventually I would team up with Sixxgunn, Herm and DJsatanswife in the admin recruiting section of TF2 and I would never look back.

Eventually Sixxgunn and Herm decided to try their hands in building a new "Insurgency" division and asked me to come over and take over as their head admin recruiter. I took the opportunity and started building the division with them. After some time Sixxgunn moved on to different things and I was fleeted up to DL and I've been here ever since. I cant take all the credit for the way this division has flourished. We have had a lot of advisors during my time here and we have all had a part in building the INS division.

It takes a team to make a something happen and I'm very happy to have all of you as my INS teammates! Now stop reading this crap and get in and fill those damn servers!

well i have played games ever since i can remember. i first started playing iins my 15th birthday when i got a gaming computer for my birthday and my brother showed me. i stayed up for about 10 hours the 1st night i had it playing. originally i played on the SCK servers then one day i couldnt find them so i played the eGO servers and was amazed at the diffrence and it was surprisingly a lot easier. (no offense) i was promted from e to eG in a little than a month and since then i have never looked back. i love the game and i also love css and this is the 2nd clan ive ever been in and this is by far the best clan in the world

Nice posts guys. Cool stories.

My gaming experience began with Counter-Strike. I was like... 12 I think. My friend has it on his computer and never played it. So, when he fell asleep one night I started playin it. I think it was a NoToRiOuS server. Next thing you know, the sun is coming up and I'm still playing. My friend actually ended up kickin me off his computer that morning. But, I was hooked. So I went out and snagged the game. I was on the computer non-stop after that. Between old school EverQuest and Counter-Strike.

I did start to lose interest in Counter-Strike though. Waaaay too many hackers and there wasn't much you could do about it then. I started playing again when I noticed the GunGame and ZM maps started showing up. I liked the zombie servers. When it was the simple zombie and just you getting on top of boxes and stuff, not the ones with certain abilities now. Some DoD too. I got bored with those soon after as well.

But one day, I noticed Steam's main page and it had free mods on it. Insurgency caught my eye. I started looking at the screenshots and said to myself "Whoa, not bad lookin."
I didn't think it was a free game. Not by the looks of it. So I downloaded it.

Been playing it ever since. Not much time goes into other shooters anymore. Just Insurgency. I found eGO shortly after that. Same as most. No mic spammers, TKers, spawn campers, and punks.

I think I was approached by Hammer first. Capy shortly after. So I figured I would check it out. It was this last February. Haven't played anywhere else since. Won't even think about it. Best community I've ever belonged to.

haha i read everyone elses and so far ive been the only that has posted that wasnt recruited by someone.

Well, heres my story. I started playing steam games back in 2006. My first game I played was HL2(duh). Then I started playing dod source and css with my friends, then kinda got away from steam games, until TF2 came out. I started playing in eGO servers in the beginning of 2008, but I never really considered joining until one of my good friends, Ninjafluff, gave me an invite last summer. I took up his offer, and with Herm's help, I joined the TF2 division. I was then promoted a month later to eG. I continued in the TF2 division until September or October, when I heard a mod called Insurgency was becoming popular. I decided to try it out, and got hooked. I switched divisions and joined the Ars. Was promoted to O in December, just before Christmas. I really wanted to become more involved in the division, so I decided to send in an app to become an Admin trainer back in February. I was accepted in by Nero, and have been training ever since! Then, just about 4 weeks ago, I was asked to become an advisor for the division, and I couldn't refuse. And so here I am.

I think during my time in eGO I have become a better person, and I have become more mature. Im really happy that I chose to come here.

ok i was "away" at "camp" for 4 and a half years from summer 97 to end of 01. i was a power lifter in college in 02 and was a beast physically at age 21 and wanted to join the army. i couldnt because i was at "camp" so a buddy of mine from compusa introduced me to counterstrike 1.3 or 1.4 i think. i became hooked and was always at a gamers cafe called the next level or [TNL]. they closed and i found a very attractive girlfriend who gamed also.

we had some problems and i got into DoD when it was a free mod. i quickly got the hang of it and when steam came out i fiercely opposed it. then almost no servers were there and i was forced to play on steam! i had been accused and banned from multiple servers for hacking because i would go on and pwn there members and they would get very upset with me. my best map was DoD free with 81 and 3. i can see how they thought that, but i would work for six months and save money so i could game for 6 months straight while i was in college. i didnt have to try at school cause it was easy. so i got very good at any game i would play as i would spend atleast 6 hours when i was working and 12 if i wasnt ingame.

i got married and joined the army back in early 06 (which has its own way of ending half its marriages!) so here i am.

then i got the source games finally in 2007 after 2 years of not playing and could only get good on counterstrike gg and dod. then... refer to first post! lol

Not sure why i started playing INS but i think it was similar to bluefalcons reason, wanted a new game to play and i was broke at the time, so thus i found INS and started playing a couple months later i find the EGO servers. in a coulpe of weeks of play i was recruited and here i am now.

I started out playing counter-strike way back in 1.0 and bounced from clan to clan. I was very very good at CS and had several stints in CAL teams and even played as an alt for a team in a CPL tournament. After playing CS for several years I moved on to DoD and eventually DoD:S and was recruited (by someone I forget who) to eGO. After being in eGO for less than a week I got into a big argument with my House Leader and almost quit eGO. Boy am I glad I didn't! I stuck with it and made it up the ranks pretty quickly after some council members and JohnT scoped my 1337 leadership skeelz, lol. Anyhow I eventually discovered Insurgency and it was Hammer himself who talked me into jumping on board. I still play alot of TF2 and DoD:S but Insurgency is my home because of the people, not the game. I hope to one day play a bigger part in the Insurgency community here once I get a work schedule that doesn't suck. Until then, I will remain your brother in arms, the guy you can trust to always have your back...unless I am armed with High-Explosive ordinance, in which case I apologize in advance...lol.

LOL! i was in a medal of honor clan called we stand alone and i did quit beacuse of the owner... out4war, but am very glad i came to terms and did quit or else i'd probably still be playing that and not with eGO! lol.
