Ipod Help

I have an ipod touch 1st gen and i was wondering how i could get some .avi videos on to it.

i converted the videos i want on it to mpeg4 but when ever i click on the video it takes me to itunes and nothing happens, when ever i drag it to itunes nothing happens, and when i click "add file to library" and pick it nothing happens.

can anyone help me? or is there another way to get it on my ipod or something?

You need an ipod video converter because of the codecs associated witht the ipod.

still doesnt work, says i dont have the right codecs, but i still cant find the ones i need

.avi files require you to have the specific codec, I don't recommend you use .avi
But that iPod video converter should convert it into the right form... Are you sure you're doing it right?
