Battle Medic Help!

I think some people are forgetting that the main point of the game is to have fun.
Medic is my main and most definitely my favorite, but let's face it. Sometimes if it's come down to a battle of Demo vs. Engie in 2fort, I very well may get bored healing. So just for the fun of playing I'll make a run through the sewers and see what happens. I LIKE being able to occasionally kill someone. It's fun to be a medic and catching them by surprise.

This doesn't mean that I don't heal and that I don't uber. It just means for my own enjoyment sometimes I want to try something else.

pretty good, but i prefer the Huntsman/Sniper Tactic

nothing more satisfying than getting an arrow thru a medic's head who has an ubercharged

Good advice. I'll have to keep some of this stuff in mind if the situation arises.

By the way guys, those stick figure diagrams are hilarious.

ahem

ahem... ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME? I consider myself to be a helluva Combat medic (I don't know where battle came from, I've always known it to be combat medic). I play 2fort usually and some ppl do get a little upset when I go combat medic. Get over it. I have the tools to kill and I chose to use them. Press the tab key and take a look at my name (which is always on there) then have the nerve to tell me that I don't contribute to the team. Yes some classes are difficult to kill as a medic, but that doesn't mean you can't damage that guy as much as possible before he takes you out (assuming he successfully kills you). Chances are running will not save you and if you are playing 2fort instant respawn, running is a waste of time. It's true I die a lot, so what. I'll be back at that bridge in 4 seconds flat. I understand medics have the ability to heal, and if you are not a good combat medic, you should probably stick with healing. But who am I to tell you that healing is your sole duty. I can only suggest what you can do to help the team you are currently in. So don't tell me that being a combat medic is a joke. Don't tell me I MUST heal ppl. Don't tell me to switch classes. I like combat medic and I kick plenty of butt. The objective in 2fort is not kill as many ppl as possible anyway. GET THE INTEL. That's how you win!

one more thing I forgot to mention, HEALING IS NOT INSTANTANEOUS. It takes a considerable amount of time to significantly heal some1 who is heavily damaged. If me and a soldier and being shot at and he is dying faster than I can heal him, my finger will start reaching for the blut.
I have often been killed because I tried to heal some1 and we both got shot down anyway. We had a chance of at least one of us living if I had just increased our firepower. Medics who heal are VERY important. And I can only heal one person at a time, if I am not healing myself with the blut.

If a soldier is dying faster than you can heal him, you're not going to get very far with any medic weapon.

Why can't you guys understand that it's the player's choice to play as a battle medic, you can't force people to not be a battle medic.

Roger that. Depends on what kind of mood I'm in. There's nothing quite like running head long into a crowd of enemies fiendishly wielding the Ubersaw to build up an uber and throw it at the nearest teammate. Maybe not as effective as well-timed uber chains, but fun all the same.

God bless battle medics! In a full server they should stay with others, but when push comes to shove they must join the fight as well!

don't be so sure candle one needle can mean the difference between killing the enemy and surviving or trying to heal someone that is likely to die anyway. If I am making a significant contribution to the fight just let me be. Otherwise I'll switch roles.
