Is Comcast Cable worth getting over Embarq DSL? I know Cable has better bandwidth but you share it with everyone and DSL is a single line through the phone line so you also have to have an active phone line to use but it's your own connection. Also DirecTV vs Comcast Cable. Just looking from some feedback that have been through this before since i've been stuck with RoadRunner Brighthouse for the past 7 years!

Thanks Guys!

I've had comcast for a long time and have very few complaints. HD is good, nice selection of channels, local and otherwise and the internet if fast - most of the time.

There is that odd exception to the internet being fast thing though, it just craps out sometimes.

well not with those companies, but with cable vs DSL in general, i have had better experiences with Cable internet. faster speeds, better quality, and stuff like that. well, all that is in my personal experiences haha

I live in georgia and stay away from cable internet. It may be faster but it goes down every other day. DSL is a bit slower but more dependable. After I herd what comcast does when you download illegally I will never subscribe to there service EVER.

I currently have dsl and i pay $42 dollars a month and get 6.0 mbps its the fastest my company (bell-south) offers. In general with the cable my friends have from comcast they seem to have frequent outages, with dsl i have had my share of outages but comcast seems to happen mre frequently. I was once setting a router up for a friend who had comcast and the support was a joke i was told "If it works the way we set it up we can't help you" i could not get the modem to use ethernet instead of usb....i eventually hooked the router up to the computer and used the computer as the modem...because comcast was no help what so ever. They also seem a bit too price after taxes your spending $70+. In the field of television i say direct tv is better mainly because it cheaper and you pretty much get the same thing.. i had comcast for a year and it ended up costing me more money for one tv with HBO on comcast than 4 with hbo and everything on direct tv. I currently have 4 boxes two HDDVR, 1 DVR and 1 normal setbox (that i all got for free btw) and pay less than the comcast equivilent and it hardly ever goes out (at least as not as much as comcast like to say it does) I got free installation and when ever i have a problem they come out for free.....So i say ditch comcast and go with direct tv and dsl.

i love my comcast. i get a minimum 10 mbps, and playing games (even with pings over 200) is still a breeze, i experience minimal lag.
