Hey guys this is Walker from INS division. Just stopping by to bring up a question that I have. But first a little BG on me. I used to play CS religiously starting with 1.0 all the way till Source came out. I played both competitively in CAL and as an alt for a local CPL team here in Dallas. When Source came out I was already getting burned out (after 6 or so years) on it on top of the fact that I wasn't that impressed with Source. I decided to go a different way with my online gaming and haven't looked back since.
I had the urge in recent days to hop back on and see if I still had it (I don't). I try to play eGO servers as much as possible so naturally I added our servers to my favorites list. Much to my enjoyment I found the high school map to be a very fun map to play. The CS:S eGO people are awesome and helped me learn the ins and outs of the map and I also found out the hard way to pick a wire when planting the bomb.
I then went to try my hand at an old favorite of mine, Dust2. What I found here horrified me and is for the most part the reason I am writing this. A 44 slot server hanging around almost full was exciting to see at first, until I was in there and suddenly remembered why 44 slots was a horrible idea. Are we sure that its a good idea to put that many people in a server together. The lag was just awefull and lets not start on whatever you call that freeze-up at the beginning of each round. As a CT I found myself either dead or every close to it several times by the time I was able to see anything, and sometimes I was blinded from a flash and dead soon thereafter. I think that maybe reducing the slots to 28 or 30 and adding another server to the mix would be a great idea and it would add some color to the map mix.
Well that's all for me, hope I don't sounds too negative I just wanted to post my thoughts and suggestions and maybe get some answers while I am at it. You will probably find me in your dust2 or office servers when they aren't so highly populated. Until then, See ya!
