im am confused of how to get items can someone help me out here? do VALVe give it out just randomly or by the amount of kills or deaths?
It is based on how long you play. The longer you play, the more you get.
As for item specificity, it's absolutely random.
Or rather, it's supposed to be. Right now the game is bugged and some people are getting all their stuff in minutes while others have yet to get anything since the update was implemented.
The system works like this:
Every so often, 5-10 minutes there are unlocks given out. What determines whether you get one or not is purely random. You can go for hours without being given one and then you can get some in one fell swoop. On average, a player will have gotten about 20 unlocks in one week. That's for normal players though who only play 4 hours a night maximum.
So in effect, the longer you play, the more you'll get. Some people have worse luck than others though, and those are the ones who are the most vocal antagonists about the new system.
