Hey guys it's fathobo from the INS division. I wanted to show everyone in the CS:S division how to get a scrim if they do not know how too. It is quite simple. It will also make you a better player.
1. Go to mirc.com--->download
2. After you have once successfully done that go to gamesurge.net and look to the right and click on the "servers" tab. And choose which IRC channel is applicable to you. Personally, I use Krypt.CA. This tab should open your IRC and permanently stay there so when you open IRC again you have it so when you do commands it will be in that channel. You will be asked to put your name and nickname and then you can start using it.
3. How to get into a scrim. If you want to get into a scrim go to #sourceringer.
This takes you to the ringer channel. You get into this cahnnel by seeing a heart shape with a # sign next to it. it is 3 from the left. Once you hit that button you may just put that information in #sourceringer.
The other good thing about source ringer is you can make a pug (this is just random gamers not a team of some sort).
However when you are ringing or making a pug make sure you state your location. West= Arizona, Utah, Seattle, California. Texas is considered central but there are actually 2 central locations that are considered in CS:S
Central= Texas: West people and Central people play very good together. So central texas can play with west people vise versa.
Chicago=Central, people from New York are common to play with these people.
So make sure you state your location. Just say west cent east
If you want a pug you can say west/cent for west people and people within the states of dallas and Colorado yada yadi ya.
To get a scrim.
Do the same thing hit the heart with a # next to it. Type: #sourcescrim
This comes up with the scrim channel. Everyone posts what they like
5v5 cal-o de_ask west ours/yours Our server/your server Cal-o Is the level of competition.
You can also use #sourceinvite password is invite. This is the same thing but people say they have a higher competition level such as Cevo and Cali IM and M. You will see people doing posts in both
And make sure u use a vent if your getting a pug for Yourself!. I would't quite suggest the =(eGO)= vent just because of how many people are in it. So ask if they have a vent or if you have a spare vent like i do ask if you can use it.
TIPS: Do not post more than 3 times back to back to back in the channels. This will get you a one minute ban.
People are pretty crazy when you play. They curse, they say racist things, they talk about crazy stuff. People rage quit like crazy too. So if you don't like it don't play it.
I personally don't wear my =(eGO)= tag when i'm playing thats your decision.
The up arrow on your keyboard allows you to put the same message into mIRC without retyping it.
When you scrim it's not pubstar, it's hold your spot until you get bomb down and sit with it. Listen too. Don't try to go do your own thing stick together.
