with new video card im going to run this again - and then when i get a new am3 mobo and ddr3 ram i'll run it again just to test the differences.
this time with my 5850 running at 1000 core and 1250 memory at 1.25v (stable) and my cpu running @ 3.7ghz (ram is the same) i got...

ok here we go. got a new m4a78t-e motherboard with 4 gb of ocz gold 1600 mhz ddr3 ram at 8-8-8-24 timings. i was also able to unlock the other 2 cores on my cpu and reran 3dmark with a current OC of 3.5ghz and 1000/1250 on the 5850 to achieve:

After playing around with my configurations and overclocking by 5 percent my score was raised a little higher but still sucks.

My original configuration was dual 6800 Ultra's on a SLI configuration in July 2005. In August of 2005, I traded in the 6800 Ultra's for two 7800 GTS's and paid an extra $100 per card.

About one year ago, one of my 7800 GTS's decided to fry near the voltage regulators. So I uninstalled the other 7800 GTS, went on ebaY and purchased a new 8800 GTX for $120.00.

overclocking your cpu doesn't affect most "graphics" based benchmarks, as you probably noticed. I oc'd by 1ghz and only got 1000 extra points. If you want to up your score invest in tri sli or crossfire and get 2-3 (or more) graphics cards

Well, TRI-SLI isn't all cracked-up to be. There's a lot of issues with scaling in TRI SLI!. And Quad SLI is way overkill in gaming and will cause bottleknecks. You can sometimes have too much processing power which will slow down your computer. Unless your into benchmarking, 1 to 2 videocards should be suffieient.

And if your running two video cards and their Nvidia; which has the Physx built in the along with CUDA Technology, and you need more graphic rendering properties, I would suggest the Nvidia 9000 series of graphic cards. But there's not too many games out there that offer the Physx Processor or Software. So that would be pretty much a waste. Unless you into the CUDA World.

ATI on the other hand doesn't have Physx built in them so You would need to purchase a seperate Physx card for ATI's cards.


But all in all, a single ATI 5000 series or 4000 series or Nvidia GTX Series should be plenty for any games on the market maxed-out on Ultra High Settings. You may get a few more FPS with another card. But from all my research, and talking to Nvidia, TRI-SLI configurations have been having scaleing problems in many games. But who knows, it may be good for you or not.

And don't for get about the PSU. A stable, continuous power level will mean less stress on your computer components and will make everything run smoother with the least amount of bottleknecks.

Truthfully I bought myself an asus rampage gene II and I still have yet to play with it at all. Tons of OC features but I just don't feel like taking any life out of my gear since everything runs to great as is. I hope when something like bf bc2 comes out it'll really let me get more out of this computer. Since I bought it all I've played on it is WoW, Insurgency and TF2.
