Need help picking a computer case.

Here is what I'm currently working with:

Form: ATX

I never bought a case for my pc when I made it [4yrs ago] and never really looked too much into them. I am in need of some suggestions about what case would be a decent one. I'd like to keep the price under $200 if at all possible. It can be either mid or full tower, doesn't matter. I've read a bunch of reviews on various cases on newegg & nothing really stood out to me. Any recommendations on cases yall use/have used would be helpful.

I'd highly recommend an ANTEC case, they make some great lookers and some very very quiet builds.
The one I've heard most highly about is, I believe, the P128.

Also Antec makes pretty good powersupplies, so you can't go wrong buying a case w/ PSU from them.

Any Antec will work beautifully. I myself have an NSK-4400 (discontinued now I believe) which was an incredibly cheap case, and the 380w PSU has yet to fail after 2 years of 24/7 usage pretty much.

Also: HOLY CHICKENS BATMAN! Get that koolaid away from that poor computer until its protected!!!11elevenoen!11
Seriously, I would never trust myself with koolaid that close, if that were my machine the koolaid would be spilled in an instant.

Well the way I normally turn on my computer is by bridging the power jumpers with my car keys & today I couldn't find them [were in the dryer, lol] and it made me realize that I really should get a case so I can turn it on with one of them fancy buttons like normal folk, heh

QFT, I have 3 cases, all like 7 or 8 years old. 1 mm Cold Rolled Steel = quiet, strong, durable. These are great long lasting cases. I have used mine as a chair for a bit, but they handle like 250lbs load on top of them.

if you have the money, mid towers are a waste of time.
if you want a mid tower the norm is the antec 900 or 1200. I will not post a link to it because I despise both.:glare:

Antec and Coolermaster are both at the top of the midrange market. Lian Li is probably what you want if getting something really nice.

I have the antec 900 and it's rather nice. It's on sale today with newegg's shell shocker, so if you want it I would grab it soon.

Yeah I agree with Killzone. Unless you really have your heart set on an expensive case I would go with the Centurion 5. It's a very well built case, for the price, and has excellent ventilation. I think since you're running a 4 year old computer you should probably go with the cheaper solution and put the rest of the money towards some upgrades.

not to get off topic but the pictures you posted make it look like your motherboard is sitting on top of your dvd drive. If this is the case your sure lucky you have not shorted out your motherboard.

Heh, it looks that way, but I assure you that its for rubber holding it up off the drive on that side & pressed paper board holding it up on the other side, so nothing conductive
