I think this might be a remake of the original, which- after seeing this thread- I wound up started playing again.

You can pick up the original and Lost Age (or whatever) for the GBA pretty cheap, though. I know the Gamestop near my house has about three in stock of both.

As far as I know, it's a completely different game. If you look at one of the official images, you can see 2 new characters behind a boy that looks very similar to Isaac, said to be Isaac's son, i believe...

So be excited! This is definitely one of the best games I've ever played, and has made some pretty lasting memories for me. I can't wait!

The back-right one has Garret from the original's hair style/color matched up pretty well, the left one I don't recognize but, given JRPG-history's standard for women, could easily be Mia or Isaac's sister.

Can't wait for this, huge fan of the original and Lost Age. I think I beat the first one 5 times before I moved on to Lost Age. Lol, in Lost Age you could transfer your save from the first one either via link cable for code. Since I didn't have a link cable, I had to do it with a code. There were three types of codes Bronze, Silver, and Gold (depending on what you wanted to transfer). Took me an hour to put in the gold code correctly.
