You need a Ventrilo License to run your own. And Flagship isn't giving any out right now.

Correct... its not that they don't sell licesnes it's that they only sell licenses to service providers. You can run your own vent legally but I think it's limited to something like 4 or 8 slots.

I think the only option for self hosting is if you use Teamspeak. Not as sexy as vent but it works.
