Erm, it releases it so you can walk normal speed.

So mad at Nintendo for making Link right handed for Wii users. I used to love playing one of the few lefty heroes around, especially one as cool as Link. Not that the new Wii dynamic will keep me from playing, but it's kinda odd playing like a lefty and Link being right handed....
