Building A Site Software

Ok so my mom is an interior designer. She needs to redo her site and he (my dad seeing he'll be setting it up) needs a good program to make a basic site. He knows nothing about code and doesn't have the time to learn to write a site himself. The site basically needs to look professional and have only a few pages . Experience , contact info , and a place to display some of her work. If anyone knows any good simple software please post it would be greatly appreciated.

It you are looking for a CMS (Which is probably the easiest for your needs), i would say Joomla. Its pretty powerful and easy to use.

Joomla works, but really if you're going for that real "proffesional" look it's going to have to have atleast some HTML in it.

Dreamweaver is the established commercial standard, and is a solid editor.

If you want free, you might try SeaMonkey Composer, which is part of the SeaMonkey suite. It used to be the Mozilla suite (and before that, the Netscape suite) back before Firefox.

It can be tricky to get a professional looking site without knowing HTML, however. I wish you the best of luck

I use dreamweaver cs4 to create my website

It is a very awesome WYSIWYG. Atfirst I used some CMS's as the other people suggested but if you are making a static site I would recommend dreamweaver. It's over $1,000 though.

Before CMS i used notepad++ and built it from scratch.

When you get dreamweaver I would recommend getting a simple layout (forgot the name of them like CSS or something I totally am braindead on that one)

Joomla is the best Content Management System. I use it.

Try downloading Joomla and the DreamWeaver trial.

Agreed. Going through certain steps is easy, and is usually very basic. To basic. To get start, you'll need to learn some Coding. It's actually not hard at all. Of course, Im not that interested in it. If I was, I'd do it for ya. =(.
