To add onto what others are saying, I just recently got Prototype yesterday & it seriously rox!! I mean I would seriously give it like a 4.75 out of 5. Everything is spot on! Activision & Radiant did a great job with the game. I really like how the story flows. Now choosing Prototype over fuel is a matter of figuring out which game you will play more of. Prototype is a 3rd person action/adventure game set in NYC. Fuel is of course a racing game (not sure if its all off-road since ive only seen pix of it), but it does look good. Fuel is good if you wanna have friends over or play w/ them online & just wanna have a good time w/ that. Prototype is more for people who like to play anger management type games. Since i used to have those issues, I mainly play the game for its twisted sense of fun. In the 5 hours that I played (which was confirmed by Xfire), I seriously havent even gotten thru half the game, because there is stuff that you can do on the side, which they call "events", pretty much like a mini-game. The game progresses really well. Some great things about the game is that if your in the tank, you can run over most things. You can kill both civilians & military personnel, & you wont get punished for it. Also something you can do while on the ground is you can run as long as you want (prob taken from GTA) but unlike GTA, you can run into people, knocking them on the ground, which is always fun 2 do in the game. Another fun thing you can do that they incorporated into the game is grabbing, where you grab anyone by throat & take them anywhere you want. Theres a lil ragdoll effect to running your victim all over the place. Probably taken from the Hulk series, you can pick up any vehicle (havent tried the tank yet) & throw it where you please (even at the enemy, whoever that may be @ the time). The reason I gave it 4.75 out of 5 is because if you grab someone, you cant release them (if you want it). Instead, you have to consume them, which isnt that bad. In fact you get health from consuming your victims. But I believe that the players should have a choice in that matter, instead of the producers of the game making the choice. Also when you get in the tank (which sounds like the only vehicle that can be used right now), the driving is a lil off sometimes (not sure about controller use tho). Overall, it is indeed a fun game to play. I can seriously see a few people playing this @ Quakecon. If you do decide to get this game, I highly suggest you start on easy, to get a feel for the game, unless you just dont care & wanna start on medium. I guess you have to complete the game in order to unlock hard mode (which is a nice lil incentive to playing the game).
