Any Mac Love?

Total PC-lover here, mostly because I haven't found anything I can't do on the PC on a Mac.

Our school has Macs though, and if there's one thing I've learned this year, it's that Macs totally fail at networking :( Maybe if they didn't, I would've gotten a better first impression of the computers, but I really just can't stand them. I don't like having a spinning wheel of death that last for five to ten minutes once every half hour.

They're decent computers. The OS looks real pretty too. The hardware looks nice, but isn't near as good as what you can get with a PC. If I ever use OSX of my own free will, it'll be through a virtual machine, not on an Apple computer.

Also, switching between Macs and PCs for homework is a pain in the butt. Guah.

<3 my Windows and Linux.

Like Trykael said, this isn't a Mac bashing forum. The title is "Any Mac Love?" and you're obviously not giving any love. So please be a little more conscious when you post, m'kay?

I've used quite a few, first was a IIsi, although I much prefer OS X to 'classic' Mac OS.

This machine is an intel Macbook. They change them so often I can't be bothered to say which generation it is :)

I know RESPAWN and tiddy also use macs frequently.

I've got VMs on here for Windows XP and a flavor of Linux. I think all the mainstream OSes have their own positives and negatives, which is why I run them all.

I drank the koolaid yesterday! I'm one of "those" people now.

Just bought a 13" Macbook Pro. Love it to death. Will be using it for school and internets, with a little TF2 on the side. It's a very nice experience overall.

I was looking for a portable laptop with great battery life and a graphics card that can handle small amounts of TF2 for around 1k. This came to $1100, plus I got a free Ipod Touch, and they were out of the free (after) MIR printers, so they gave me a $200 printer with $100 and the $100 MIR.

Nothing could boast 7hrs and be as thin as this.

Grats man! It's a real nice little machine. I'm angry that I got the unibody 13" Macbook about 5 months ago. I think it's around the same specs, but you get a backlit keyboard :). I guess I can't complain though, technology just moves too fast!

I was an Apple guy way back when... My first computer was an Apple IIe, upgraded to an SE next. Then various Performas, and the original powerbook 100 (used that through my freshman year of college). Still have my orange 2nd gen G3 Imac, and a Graphite Clamshell G4 Ibook. That was the last mac I owned, though. They started getting a bit too pricey for me, and I wasn't happy with the quality of the original Imacs and Ibooks (they fell apart after a year or so of use). I did love OSX, though. So streamlined, simple and intuitive compared to Windows. Someday I'll get another....

I use them from time to time in my little recording business. At least it's the setup we have at the studio I normally work at.

same here at the studio we got a pro tools hd setup with a 2 quad core mac pro

Any Mac love?

No. Sorry :D... Mac's are great for school computers, since there cheaper and meet the schools needs, but there HORRIBLE for gaming.

Please stop:

Ryken, that's priceless. And too true. We've told these guys to cut it out but they still keep bashing Macs.

I don't care if you like or dislike mac's, but please, don't post asinine comments about them.

No, a mac doesn't have the gaming power a typical windows machine has for the same money. Get over it. Not everyone games on every computer they own. It's like saying a putter is worthless because it can't drive the ball as far as a driver that costs the same amount of money.

If you hate Mac's, please start a "Mac Hate" thread and leave this one alone.

I have a mac and love it, i use crossover games to run css, so i don't have to reboot, i don't even need to install windows.

will be taking a look into the new iphone, i need a new phone. not really interested in the OS though.

I'm a mac lover, but I can't afford it. It's like being addicted to very fine wine...

indeed. I've only really tried Apple on work experience and at a mates house. (still not used to the lack of a right mouse button) it's deffinitely a better designed system tho.
otherwise i've got an iTouch and very tempted by the iPhone, both are absolutely brilliant devices. without equal.

Macs suck!

when you make a statement you should at least back it up with something maybe some fact or in your case at least some horrible opinionated reason.

and an other note i finally got a new MBP got one of the new 15 inch one with a 2.53ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4gb ram and it was free or for at least the 2 years im at collage.
