Old news I've been playing since the middle of Alpha. I'm not liking the game style at all. so NDA... yeah whatever. Now don't get me wrong. things HAVE changed a lot since the alpha builds. But it sort of feels like tribes meets UT but with a little less jumping.
Some things of interest that may not be common knowledge. IT was planned for 64 x 64 battles, but not like you think. A hex grid is drawn around a central core. this grid has a number of maps that had little value during alpha but may be bumped up later. This grid offers protection for the core. Each hex in the grid supported a max of 12 v 12, but it could end up as 12 v 0, or 12 vs some lesser random number. In the alpha we split into 2 random alliances and using the alpha vent server we were separated into those alliances. Each alliance could consist of as much as 8 teams. but still only 64 people. We split up into 8 teams of 8, and pressed forward with even forces. Where ever a team would struggle, we would re-enforce it to 12 for that hex. the system was a little shaky in alpha but it had potential. This was the raid system but I don't know how they plan to fix it up, and re-implement it.
The game is shaping up to be a decent shooter but they had better have a few aces up those sleeves or its going to be a huge let-down for a pay to play game.
My schedule has gotten a little shaky, and then for their beta they started doing beta weekends. Which wont work for me at all. so yeah.... not too thrilled.
