Defrag Steam?

Is this real or a clever attempt to steal my steam ID?

The .gfc files get defragmented over time and cause horrible load times. Windows defrag doesn't work for them, nor does the steam defrag option.

use this process to defrag the steamapps folder. you should see load times drop to about 15-30 seconds

Hmmm dunno, can't say I've heard of it before.

Personally I run Perfect Disk 10 once every 2-3 weeks and it keeps most load times at or under a few seconds. The window's defrag is a very stripped down basic defrag system. A good aftermarket one such as PD10 will often defrag everything as where most basic ones do very little.
 
I would not do it cause i don't trust when he keeps saying "Dont worry about what it does".
 
In the game tab of steam right click the game in question, go to properties, local files and hit the button "defragment cache files." Free and built into steam itself.

Well its not like this version costs money :P

I think this program's appeal goes to you not having to do that for each individual game in your games menu. For example, I have 45 - 50 steam games on my list and it would be a pain to do each at a time.
 
Never heard of that before...even if it was clever, I don't think you can do anything bad with a Steam ID, as it's publicly viewable.

not to be trusted imo, a decent defragger (aka defraggler-free) should be able to defrag everything.

or just do what Jubei said
