Team Fortress 2 - 1st impressions

So, I played a couple more hours, on just about every map. My interest in the game continues to sink the more I play it. None of the classes are very fun for very long.

Also, the PACING is horrible! Most respawns are set at 20 or so seconds...so I play for 45-60 seconds and die, and now have to wait almost half a minute to play again! In DOD:S, an arguably slower-paced game, the respawn is 5 seconds. What's going on here?

Don't even get me started on Sudden Death, where if you happen to die early, you get to sit for three or four minutes until it's over; it's faster to go to another server than to wait for it to end!

All in all, I won't be playing it anymore.

End result after about four hours of play...

Looks great, but ends up being no fun in the end.

It's the beta bro, it's not fully done yet =( And post your complaints on the steam forums aswell, they might take into consideration your complaints :)
 
I saw some in-game footage, and it seems they ruined yet another aspect of play in a good game, with the weapon reloading... I'll probably buy it, but definitely not until it's released.

Well, it is pretty much the final product. There won't be any big changes between now and full release. I mean, any real fans just about are going to be playing now anyways.
 
Well Ram it may be basically the final product, But I'm sure you can post a petition on the steam website about the Respawning times. I admit those are killer, especially when you mean to type/say something to your team.

It took everything I love about tfc and just made it even better and even more ridiculous at the same time! My only thing is the respawn times but I'm sure that's a server side thing.

That means damnit for all those who don't speak Flea.

I tried yet again to buy the Orange Box today, and YET AGAIN was my credit card (which is in good standing!) declined. Called the company and they didn't even recieve any confirmation for a purchase! It wasn't declined they're not even recieving my damn purchases.

So having tried with multiple cards I had to wait these past two days for this stupid Steam Support ticket to file through, finally got a response today saying that my card has been unlocked and that I should be able to make my purchase.

...grr...I'll try again tomorrow, and hopefully wind up gaming with some TF2. Otherwise I will be a very, VERY frustrated Flea. I'm dying to play this game!
 
I just played for 5 hours today and I had a blast. I do agree with ramatheson about the spawn times, especially in sudden death. It feels like I'm playing counterstrike if I have to wait=( Medic and Scout are my favorites to play. The pace felt like I was playing on Orange map. Very chaotic. Other than that, I see myself playing it often, but DOD:S will still be my baby...
 
Finally! After the Steam support ticket filed through and they unlocked my card, I successfully managed to preorder the Orange Box today. I'll be installing the files tonight and will hopefully wind up doing some TF2 gaming tonight or tomorrow.

About damn time!
